Levine: Possible frontrunner for manager - LAD 1B Coach Clayton McCullough

I am resigned to the fact that we are stuck with Sizemore. McCullough would make too much sense, so we can forget about it.

That's like 29 other teams, can you be more specific?

  • Sizemore is the perfect man for the job. He’s already been here all year so we won’t waste a year with a new guy learning everyone. He’s cheap. He can keep the seat warm while this team is terrible th

ESPN is reporting the White Sox have come to terms with new Manager Rony TaLussa.

"Rony may be a relative unknown in baseball circles, but he is just what this team needs in my opinion." - Chairman Jerry Reisnsorf

I know nothing about the guy, but the resume seems good enough. Although “never being associated with the White Sox organization” is the clear #1 priority

This is the most probable outcome.

Too soon.  Then again as long as Tony is alive, it will be too soon.

Saw Rony and was wondering who Ronnie was or if they brought back Romy Gonzalez as a player/manager just to be totally different...

Watching the Marlins game and they said that Schumaker’s mentor is Tony and that they speak once a week via phone.

Hawk's one year as GM of the White Sox changed the careers of Tony La Russia, Dave Dombrowski and Bobby Bonilla.

That is some crazy butterfly effect.

I don;t think it's going to be Schumaker.  I think he goes to a team that's closer to winning.

At least he’s likable and can learn on the job while the team is horrible.  Like a younger Renteria.

Maybe he got bored of the team that wins a 100 games a year and wants to see what it is like to loose 123 games.

Fixed it for you 😆

Maybe one of those teams that think spending more money on a manager than a player is gonna be the difference.

The Cubs?

I wonder if that’s why they first were like it’s 100% going to be an outside the organization hire to ok well consider Sizemore now.

Maybe but I think Sizemore has earned strong consideration.  He's made some dumb decisions which should be expected from a first time manager but the players play hard for him because they respect him and that seems to be more than half the battle these days.  If he is the guy they need to hire a strong bench coach to help him with in game decision making.

But that's not the Royals?

Similar color scheme. If you squint it's basically the same.

I thought it was dumb to say he wasn't going to be considered. Maybe there was a silent "unless he does exactly what we say".

I like Sizemore a lot.  At least he stays awake for the games.

Agreed.  These guys should play hard for him.  He was a better player then all of them so they should at least respect him.

Sizemore is still under contract for next season. If he’s not in the dugout as a coach, he’ll probably be in the front office. He’s someone the Sox should keep around based on how he got the team to play hard during the second half.

The connection with TLR might have some bearing and he could wind up managing the White Sox.

No doubt.  I just think he's going to get a better offer from a team like the Reds, Mariners or maybe the Cardinals or Nats if they make a managerial change.
