Tim Anderson agrees to minors deal with LAA

Woof. I wish him well, but man, what missed potential.

Him hitting in front of Trout would have sounded cool a few years ago.

Does anyone only see a minor league deal with Moncada also?

I can't imagine anyone would guarantee him any money at all with his injury (and not caring) history.

Didn't know the angels needed a catcher.

Seriously though, What a fall from grace

I am pretty sure he gets a MLB deal this year.  Remember, Tim is about two years ahead of Yoan on the fall off scale.

He got hurt in Winter Ball, correct? I know there was reported interest but I think it was before that.

Seems like yesterday he hit that walk off HR in Iowa and was at the top of his game.

Oh how the mighty have fallen....

Anderson was one of the few Sox players anybody'd ever heard of during his tenure. I also wish him well. That'd be neat if he got good again. Abreu should sign a minor league deal somewhere too.

I hope Tim regains form and salvages his career. And find where his power went because I thought that was what made him interesting in 2019.

It’s a bit strange that a guy with the career line below was once considered a burgeoning star player.

.278/.308/.411/.718

I know the last two seasons have hurt his overall career numbers.  Is there any way to see his career line right after the 2022 season?

This reminds me of that time, probably in 2023, when Anderson was on first base and Abreu was playing first for Astros, and Timmy allegedly said I hate this f.....g place.

I was going to post that the Field of Dreams game feels like 10 years ago

I still think some of his decline was due to his off field problems.  The mental and emotional issues had to have taken a toll.  I hope he makes the Angels MLB team, but, man, what could have been...

Also shows the aging curve really hits up the middle players quite early now…closer to 31-33.

Unless you’re Jose Altuve.

Thank you!  I never knew about that trick.  Looks quite a bit better if you subtract his last two awful seasons, but still not “star” level.

Probably, but he was also the cause of the more recent personal issues.

For that 4 season spell between 2019 and 2022 he was probably near 'star level' which made his drop off even more dramatic.

I am once again reminding people that Hanser Alberto's inability to field a ball led to Tim suffering a leg injury that the Sox rushed him back from, because they only had a winning record with him in the lineup.

Of course, he relied heavily on his legs. Throw in the team drama (which he was a part of) and it was a recipe for disaster.

I was always concerned about Tim. I am not one who goes for theatrics. Competing at the major league level is serious business. A player needs to be serious about it.

He was probably the cause of all of it, if the rumors of his string of women on the side were accurate.

Yeah, you can highlight the years in B-R. It summarizes.

EDIT: oops. late to the party.

That was definitely a factor BUT Tim also derailed his career by his off field issues.
