Hurt AND injured.  The Sox got us again.

Alexander Albertus now playing in ACL game.

Wonder how long they keep waiting to make the call

Anthony needs a spot...they're going to have to trade Duran or make Raffaela a utility guy and/or give up on Story at SS.

Zavala on the hot sheet.

18. Samuel Zavala, OF, White Sox
Team: High-A Winston-Salem
Age: 20
Why He’s Here: .600/.652/.900 (12-for-20), 5 R, 0 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 6 RBIs, 3 BB, 5 SO, 2-for-3 SB
The Scoop: In the not-too-distant past, Zavala was a Top 100 Prospect. But after a down year in 2024, he saw his prospect pedigree dim. Returning to High-A to begin 2025, Zavala has caught fire in June, logging 14 hits this month across seven games. This week, Zavala had three multi-hit games, including a four-hit game on Tuesday. Zavala didn’t just save the fireworks for the week’s opening game, either, as he ended the week with home runs on Saturday and Sunday. Zavala has some work still to do to recover his prospect status, but he has a shot due to his on-base ability and power. (GP)

Let him cook.

Frank Mieses, OF, Dominican Republic: Mieses signed for $175,000 and could end up the best position prospect in the class for the White Sox. He’s a lean, athletic 6-foot-1, 170 pounds with good plate discipline for a 17-year-old and wiry strength to drive the ball for hard, quality contact to all fields. He’s not a burner but he’s a tick above-average runner with strong defensive instincts in center field.

Off to a hot start in DSL: 6-14 with a HR and 2B. 7 walks to just 2K through 5 games.

I don’t think the Sox being so cautious with Hagen Smith is a bad thing. Getz/Bannister have shown to be very conservative when it comes to taking care of arms.

Eh, Cannon just happened,  as did like half a dozen TJSs, maybe they are adjusting that way, but I don't agree with conservative.

Antonacci #3 in A+ (173 wRC+) , Mogollon #2 in A (164 wRC+)

If everything clicks for Zavala and thats a big IF; I think we're looking at a left handed Carlos Gomez with good but not elite defense in CF.

Gomez was a very dynamic player, though...he had a lot of speed, that was his calling card (along with plus defense) when he first came up, and extra base hits, more than a HR hitter.

He was a true five tool guy...that's a very tough measuring stick to go by.

Carlos Gomez was one of the best players in the world for a short period of time. From 2011-2015, be put up 19 bWAR. He put up 12.3  bWAR in 2013 and 2014. He was unreal those two seasons.

25 Rising Prospects

Caleb Bonemer, SS, White Sox
Preseason Top 30 rank: 11
Current Top 30 rank: 6 (MLB No. 87)
Whispers about Bonemer’s improvement started in spring training and have reached a full-blown fervor. The 19-year-old has torched Low-A pitching, ranking fifth in the Carolina League with a 151 wRC+ and third in wRAA (14.9). He’s made swing adjustments—flattening his plane and adding a bit of rhythm—that, combined with his physical strength, have produced standout contact metrics, especially against fastballs. Once seen as a potential first-rounder, Bonemer fell to the White Sox in the second round in 2024. So far, it’s looking like a steal. (MC)

I want to see how much AA takes out of his bat. That will be a huge leap for him, esp at only age 20.

I posted this in a minor league games thread a couple days ago, but it got lost in the shuffle:

Jacob Gonzalez with a couple more hits and a couple more RBIs today. Does he have a chance to be something still? I think he has an OPS of around .800 since the beginning of May.

Anybody have thoughts on him? @Y2Jimmy0?

Deserved, but WS will miss him.

McDougal’s emergence is one of the best things that could have happened to the Sox this year. The stuff is absolutely elite and he is still just 22. Kinda replaces Grant Taylor in my rotation dreams if Taylor does end up staying in the bullpen.

He’s been really good since switching to the torpedo bat. Solid defender but I’m just not sure how much impact he’ll have offensively. He’ll make the majors but I’m not expecting a regular

Why hasn't Bonemer been promoted?

Bonemar is 19 years old. Let him develop. There is no need to rush him. The Sox have ruined many players by rushing their development. It's his first year in pro ball, and it's a grind. I'm fine with him staying the whole year in Low A or maybe sending him up to High A the last month of the season.
