Maybe if you amass an offense of 5'6" guys, you'd bump up the team OBP with a bunch of walks.

62 days of service time and 24 years old catches my attention.  On a team full of flawed players, might as well get someone with any upside.

And I’d still rather play him that Taylor, Slater, and Jankowski haha

  • Can’t imagine doing victory laps about someone being bad when the current roster is hitting below .200 as a team.

Been there, done that — Madrigal, Mendick, Lopez, Fletcher.  No thanks to any more little guys.

Is that Fletcher?

We must ask ourselves: Is Alexander Canario SoxTalk's next Jarred Kelenic?

Is this what a new banner smells like?

Imagine a beautiful banner with a starting outfield of Jankowski, Taylor, and Canario.

What would a "Soxtalk cult hero" Mount Rushmore look like, besides Cody Asche?

Brent Lillibridge nominated.

And I think you're expecting way too much from Canario

Pretty sure he was talking about the Crochet package part of that. Sox would be lucky to get half that package for Robert, ie something like Braden and Meidroth

Billy Hamilton, Craig Grebeck, Warren Newsom, DeWayne Wise

Wise is not a cult hero... he's a hero

So no one claimed this guy and he's back in AAA?  If I went by Soxtalk's reaction, I would have thought 29 teams would have jumped all over him.

He has?

Where did you see this news?  I haven’t seen that yet.  As far as I know, the Mets have one more day to trade him before he hits a 48 hour waiver period.

That is being reported randomly because mlb trade rumors said that is what happened and then walked it back.

Ok.  I googled his name and saw a headline but it doesn't seem like its real/official.  Sorry!

In any case, the Mets are taking this down to the wire.  But I would think that if a team was interested in trading for him, they would’ve done it by now.  If he isn’t traded and makes it to waivers tomorrow, the Sox have first waiver claim priority.

And the Sox just got some cash for Eder.

We are not in the same spot as the other 29 clubs. You're comparing apples to oranges

Yeah no one thinks he's a slam dunk to be good. Just a guy who maybe deserves some playing time over the Slaters/Taylors/Jankowskis of the world on a team like this. It's like the argument of giving Sosa/Vargas/Lee as much PT as possible.

Traded to pirates for cash

Hope the mourning isn't too hard at Soxtalk for this loss.

I was actually a little excited for the roster movement. Oh well.

Couldn’t give up cash considerations for the guy, even though they just got some from trading Eder earlier today.  Those can only go one way — into Jerry’s wallet.  🤣

Also funny is that the Pirates have a better outfield than the Sox and thought Canario was still worth adding.  A bad team looking to improve.  Go figure…

He’ll probably play some LF along with old friend Tommy Pham.
