Anyone who thinks Tony LaRussa brought anything positive to this organization this time around is truly derranged.

  • I may be in the minority but I have no issue with them keeping Luis. They have nothing committed to payroll next year and no one knocking at the door to be an every day CFer. Also, I would consider ke

  • Oh no. Chris Getz maybe asked for a desirable target in trade negotiations. It's truly unfortunate dialogue ends completely after one player is inquired about.

That screams "I am not serious".  It's like Cleveland asking for DeVries for Kwan.

Who mentioned that? Not saying your wrong I just didn't see it.

Apparently, Tong was wistfully bandied about back in May.

Thanks for the cite on the Tong thing.

I'm hoping this is just midday gamesmanship and then Getz presents his true fallback demand in the afternoon.

Get your LH bat and your CF project.

This isn't that hard.

Just go see @vilehoopster’s post.  🤣

I too will believe any report that a dude I've never heard of is giving.

Absolutely.

I wonder what his asking price for Houser is.

The Sox inability to develop guys doesn't necessarily mean they were trading for bad players. It could just mean that our player development was garbage.

It could also be both of those things. That is how you end up with the worse season in MLB history.

Kwan >>>>> DeVries

DeVries isn't a crazy as at all. Kwan has been a 4.5+ player consistently per 162. They would need to add something else to DeVries.

He appears to be a legitimate New York baseball journalist based on his Twitter profile.

And this town has plenty of blowhard journalists, too.

I mean, Healey is an actual reporter.

If you need something to amuse yourself with during the day check out the Mets fans responses on X.

But his phrasing makes it sound like he's not actually "reporting" that firsthand.

Seems more like an "if this is true" than an "I can confirm" framing.

It’s an upgrade from a Chicago foodie Twitter account.

Those guys are still better than Kaplan.

That's fair.

Notice how Bartolo's Colon or whatever's Houser to Bluejays stuff didn't materalize

There are definitely enough FA this off-season to make this club competitive next year. Competitive meaning... I don't have to watch everyone here celebrate Chris Getz "turning the organization around" while the White Sox are fucking 40-69. I feel like I'm going crazy reading the optimism here lately. It truly proves Jerry's thought that if you set the bar in a certain place, you can trick fans.

No reason this team can't sign 5 guys and turn this into a team trying to hover near 500 and maybe surprise someone.

Every bad team has good stretches though.

Do you boo the coaches for being optimistic ?

Are we all supposed to be the same personalities of doom and gloom ?

Should we all apologize for liking the rookies playing well ?

Did you throw ups reading how thrilled people were yesterday in the game thread against the Phillies ?

Is kind of sad all the doom and gloomers find it so hard to compliment positive things but find it so easy to rip things apart.

Heck the Pope would lambasted here for being too Holy.

Could that be because the Sox had an unrealistic ask so they pivoted to Bieber?

If we were actually blocking a real 1B, I would care, but we aren't.  Get your best bats in the up on a daily basis.  Plus this allows for whoever plays 1B to go to C in case of emergency without costing us a DH.

Obviously you don’t want to lose your DH, but (especially with the roster we have now), you ought to be able to play old-school NL ball and do double switches to avoid the pitcher batting.

Has that guy ever been right in the first place? I'm going with that option first.

Saw someone on X bring up the Sox picking up Kimbrel's option to just trade him not long after that, if the Sox are willing to eat some money too, that could be very enticing to a lot of teams if he stays healthy and has a strong 2nd half.
