That any money will be spent on this team within the next 4 years, at a minimum.

Who said that?  Still not sure who you are arguing with here…

  • It's not the Suns guy, it's his BROTHER!! And if he wanted to buy a team for cheap to move, he'd have bought the Twins. He's willing to wait 9 more years because he wants CHICAGO.  Get a fuc

A big spending owner can turn around any professional sports franchise.

Agreed, as long as the money is spent throughout the organization and not on just a couple of overpaid busts.

The two teams who have lost the most in RSN/broadcast revenues (by far) have been the Sox and Padres, compared to where things stood just two short years ago.

Twins and Guardians are right up there, along with all the NL Central teams not named Cubs/Cardinals.

The Coasts have won, basically...with very few exceptions like the two just mentioned.

The Sox only lost Comcast/NBC last October.  They're taking a hit this year.  Each team was getting, at least, $200M in revenue sharing each year thru 2023 (it probably dropped a bit in 2024 because a few teams lost their RSN).

The bulls, however, an entire season 😬

Still fingers crossed for YouTube tv

This article is complaining about the possibility of the Sox trading Quero and Meidroth for pennies to save money. This is like my wife constantly worrying about things that are most likely not ever going to happen.

I don't even follow what she's trying to say.  It makes no sense.  That website sucks.

You got one of those too? 😂

I have no comment on how bad that article is

I think at this point we can safely count Uncle Jer out of the stadium business. Possible that Ishy has authority to rep the Sox going forward.

That's kind of what the Sun Times article said from late yesterday. He is now the face of all of this.

It's sad what happened to SB Nation, including SSS. Just a shell of what it was when the Cheat was running it. I'm personally not sure how you can spin this as a bad thing for Sox fans. Jerry wasn't going to spend any money or make big changes anyways. Now at least we have a firm exit plan for him.

Pretty horrible article.  Also, the author’s business acumen is really terrible.

I’m not arguing anything.  I guess we are aligned.

I like that one of their points is "why would JR pay for a stadium now?"

Uh, well yeah. Kind of a key reason Ishbia is now a huge part of this...?

I'm trying to cheer myself up and remember that there was a chance Jerry could sell to some other poor bastard that sucks, and even though the timeline is long, we are getting a true rich boi.

That's a win.

Wow.  Is that a real name?

Oof. Apparently his full name is Nikhil. I'd probably just go by that when using my full name.

I was always worried his sons were going to keep it even though we'd always heard that wasn't going to happen.

The first time I heard Nick Kurtz name, my jaw dropped
