Lip Man 1
Fear not friends and neighbors, nobody will claim the stiff and he'll be back in the organization in a few days and eventually called back up to the Major league club. That's the usual outcome with White Sox players who are released.
ChiSox59
I love how active Getz is with the back of the roster versus the previous regime.

I'm actually still watching the games this year. The talent is way better and at least there is some hope of winning. Plus the youth movement is exciting.

Is it fair to call it the “back” when like 20 of the 26 guys wouldn’t be on other ML rosters? 😂 4

I am glad they finally sent him out for one of the kids who should be playing as much as possible in Baldwin. And both Getz and Venable are to blame. Getz kept him on the roster and Venable kept playing him.

joejoesox
Boston initially acquired Noda from the Angels for cash considerations May 22. He spent his entire time in the organization at Triple-A Worcester. He went 14 for 37 (.378) with a .519 on-base percentage, .703 slugging percentage, 1.221 OPS, three home runs, three doubles, 13 RBIs, nine runs, 12 walks and 12 strikeouts in 13 games. Noda posted a 2.2-bWAR with Oakland in 2023 as a Rule 5 rookie. He batted .229 with 16 homers, 54 RBIs, .770 OPS and 15.6% walk percentage in 128 games for the A’s.

SS Chase, RF Tauchmann, 3B Vargas, LF Beni, 2B Sosa, DH Teel, CF Robert, 1B Elko, C Quero No matter how you shuffle the line-up, this team finds a way to lose close games. They have never gained any momentum and seem to lack whatever it takes to get that going. It seems like losing so many close games has demoralized the team and our fans. The Mighty Mite
We keep calling up guys or trading for guys who are tearing up AAA Ball but as soon as they put on a White Sox uniform they hit the skids, it’s a shame because the Sox are just about in every game and I believe the pitching and defense have been good enough to win on a fairly consistent basis, maybe around .500 but the lack of a couple of power guys is killing them. This team reminds me a little bit of the teams of the Go Go years the difference being that the Sox of those years had just about the best pitching and defense in Baseball and of course we are in a different time and place where if you can’t hit home runs you’re not going to win many games

If I was him I would ask to be traded or released. Obviously he's not wanted here in Chicago. He's now being replaced by Noda who has no power.

I like Elko because he seems like a good guy who has been making the most of his talent and had the reputation of a gamer which translates to leader. He's been successful at all levels. I know MLB is best in the world and Elko may not ever succeed there even if given a bigger chance which is hard to come by with his pedigree. Enjoyment of games is not based purely on winning or losing in the current state of the franchise. As a fan I try to imagine sitting next to his family in the stands. I wouldn't be yelling "Elko you suck" like some crazed maniac who discards people's feelings just because I paid for a ticket and think I now have the right to be a dick . I saw a video recently of a Sox fan in Houston who pushed a guy after he had a drink poured on top of his head from behind. He then got viciously punched in the face by another Astros fan. I have no idea what led to all that but some fans are assholes and just wearing an opposing teams uniform sets them off. I went to Sox game in Dodger stadium with my Dad and 2 kids when they were all visiting me at the same time. Very rare occurrence since my Dad lived in Oak Lawn and me in So Cal and my kids took a Greyhound from AZ. to see me since they lived with their mother. We weren't loud or on obnoxious just 3 generations of a family enjoying baseball. I may have had a Sox hat on. Probably in my mid 40s at the time .Some assholes sitting about 5 rows behind me threw peanuts at the back of my head a couple of times. What am I supposed to do surrounded by Dodgers fans with 2 children who were tweens and my Dad who was probably in his late 60s at the time? It gives you a greater appreciation of how to act as a fan. It doesn't matter if it's a game thread or at a game. So brave of those 2 young adult males to get a kick out of trying to provoke me into a confrontation when it was apparent it was a family outing. This is why fans piss me off a lot more than players.

Players who have actually accomplished something at the big league level at least have some, note I said some, leverage. Elko has done absolutely nothing in the big leagues to where he can demand anything let alone a trade/release request. Oh by the way, the Sox aren't moving to Nashville. 😉
