Chisoxfn
Very good return for Houser. They may turn into nothing - but I like approach here.

He gets a passing grade so far. Last season still looms large, even if some of it was a freighter hitting an iceberg.

Tauchman requested to stay due to his daughter’s health stuff. He’s arb eligible. Getz noted that a decision doesn’t have to be made yet. They can tender him and keep him or trade him before tender deadline. They have options. 5 hours ago, caulfield12 said: Love the caveat "former top prospect." Hope Robert goes into the tank for the rest of the season and they just give him the buyout...needs Moncada phantom injury. Then can pop up the last week or two of the season. This is ridiculous and makes no sense. I was stunned that they’d pick up the option but Jeff Passan gave it some clarity. He said Robert would likely get a 1/15 deal this offseason as a free agent so 1/20 is fine for a team like the Sox essentially. 5 hours ago, PolishPrince34 said: Tauchman asked not to be traded. caulfield12
Looks like the Twins and eventually the Guardians will run out of resources eventually in the Central. Down to Detroit, KC if they get a new stadium, and the White Sox. Kwan might get moved as early as the offseason as he hits arbitration. Who knows what happens with closer Clase. ChiSoxFanMike
I’m fine with the trade, but don’t know why they immediately optioned Mead to AAA. He should take Josh Rojas spot. 4

I hope Getz doesn’t think he can save a few bucks by some team claiming his worthless ass off waivers. Pretty sad… Edited August 1 by WhiteSox2023

Correct Plus if he hits for the next 2 months, maybe they trade him this offseason. Then they don’t have to pay him it (well maybe not all at lest). Pretty sad… I read they optioned all 3 guys they got for Houser to AAA, but hopefully that’s not true. Mead at the very minimum should be in Chicago. ron883
The important part is that we got rid of him to solidify the #2 lottery spot. Sucks that we got absolutely boned by the rules and couldn't get the #1 lottery spor last season. Edited August 1 by ron883

Kyyle23
Man oh man do I hope this guy pushes Rojas out. In this lineup the new guys all have life, but Rojas feels like a holdover from last season, just never swinging at the right time or at the right pitches 4
