Somebody else mentioned this. Changing the classic Sox logo that they've had for 3+ decades. No doubt it's an awesome logo, but the rebrand would represent change. The end of the Reinsdorf era.

Would you be in favor or a rebrand/new logo?

ReBrand on the field like a real franchise. The uniform is not the problem.

  • The only rebrand necessary is of the org and it’s reputation, which is more rehabilitation than anything. The current uniforms are perfect, with the only needed tweak being the return of the diamond s

Yes - can always keep the classic - but I’d bring the whole south side thing and brand the hell out of this being the White Sox era.

Id have no problem with a little dashes of red shadowing letters and numbers on the uniform like late 50s and 60s teams.

Looks a bit like a thinner Gavin Sheets.

Bob Shaw?

Is that Pete Ward? That was ***just*** before my time. We had a media guide or something that bounced around the house about the '59 team. I was born in 63, so I was fully sentient around 71. Weird how, with baseball cards, there's a whole aura around guys you just missed. I'd be looking at my Don Buford card and wondering why nobody told me about his time on the White Sox.

That’s Bob Shaw, went 18-6 with the 1959 AL Champions, was the starting pitcher in game 2 of the WS which I attended.

I’d love it if they went back to these uniforms.

Keep the uniform as is, MLB's Friday Night uni's are cool.

People are so giddy about a rebrand, thinking it'd be a throw back to a past uniform.

If there's a rebrand, it's going to be a modern, minimalist logo (look at the NBA losing all flavor).

Keep the classic looking that could skyrocket in popularity (moreso than it already has) by fielding a good team.

The Sox have the Pope and a President rocking their brand, leave it as is. ;)

Yeah, the odds of the rebrand being as good as or better than what they have now are really low.

Gross, no.

The current brand is highly marketable outside of baseball, it would be a mistake to change it. Just put out a damn winner that would be change enough that would signify the end of the Reinsdorf era.

i say this with zero sense of humor, but if we changed our logo there is a chance the world would..like...totally forget who we are

No. That would be really dumb.

No.  One of the few good off the field moves during the Reinsdorf era was to bring back the iconic "Old English" Sox logo and the current black pinstripes uniforms at the end of 1990.  I see no reason to dispose of it when Ishbia takes over - none whatsoever.

When I was growing up, the Sox went through a series of bad, sometimes laughable uniforms.  First was those awful "old timey" uniforms of the Veeck era that made the Sox look like a joke team to me.  Then we moved on to the Astros-wannabe ultra tacky uniforms of the early 80s that Jerry is still in love with.  Then we ditched those and went to a super generic looking uniforms with an "Einhorn E" logo on the cap in the late 80s.  The Sox kept bouncing from bad unis to bad unis every 5 years or so and that led to a lack of brand identity.  Meanwhile, the Yankees, Dodgers, Cardinals, Cubs, Tigers, and many other teams had the same classic uniforms and logos year after year.  Going back to the Old English Sox logo with black pinstripes was a total home run.

And no, we shouldn't go back to the red pinstripes uniforms even if some Boomer fans still have fond memories of the Dick Allen era.  Our team is not the "Red" Sox.

I was the one to suggest this yesterday and I agree with many of your points. My suggestion was to bring back the red piping around the current logo, akin to what they had back in the '50s. The logo is still effectively the same, the brand image is still the same, everything is still recognizably "The Sox"... just with a little added color and definition.

I get people may still view that as change just for the sake of change, or throwing out a recognizable logo, but I contend that it changes *just enough* to mark a new era while still retaining the Sox brand and identity.

No. They have an awesome logo. Teams have alternate uniforms, hats, etc. That's fine.

Who is suggesting that the logo be changed? It doesn't change the history or mean that the future will be improved.

Spend money. Improve the culture of the organization.  That's how you show change, not a new logo.

when Ishbia takes over we need to rebrand and use uniforms paying homage to the film Ishtar (1987)

Not a complete rebrand, keep the colors, add a fourth (red or forest green), and use the batterman as an alternate hat/uniform.

One of the worst movies ever.

maybe a minor refresh would be nice

-Pick up some of the '59 unis, -the large number on the sleeves

-maybe add red as a tertiary color

-Kill the Batterman logo forever.

-have actual White socks

-Have the 1917 as alternates

Bob Shaw

I voted yes but I'd only be OK with a small accent somewhere. The hat has to stay. I'd like to bring back the pinstripes. Maybe a pinstripe alt with green accents. I'm sure someone could whip up some decent concepts if Ishbia wanted.
