Even with nationwide 5% billionaire taxes instituted overnight, you can't balance any budgets without touching capital gains and real estate wealth. Costs are rising for everyone, sure, but disproportionately impacting the Bottom 80% of Americans or Illinois residents. In the end, it's capitalism/profits and Indiana might just get rewarded for being in a better overall situation financial health and investment-wise.

Regardless, Illinois dragged it out and put the Bears on the wait list. The Bears needed to do something.

Linderbaum is gonna cost around $20 million a year on the open market. Biadasz would be a cheaper short term solution.
March 3Mar 3 This stinks - but this also might mean some different cap flexibility in place - if they are more confident given Thuney, Jonah, and Wright, so then your ability at center or even drafting a younger player (or trading for one in a more cap friendly manner) frees up some added flexibility for other moves. But man - talk about a shocker. I wonder if they had any indication at all or if this kind of puts the Bears in a tougher spot (better now than a week from now).
