Sure. But the Bears are a sports team for entertainment and really don't have an impact on your life unless you are a season ticket holder and they keep raising my prices.

The politicians decisions have an impact on everyone in the state and they keep raising everything for everyone.

The Illinois politicians could have made their decisions 2 years ago. They continued to say any negotiations with the Bears were not a priority again this year. Until the Bears brought in Indiana.

Even with nationwide 5% billionaire taxes instituted overnight, you can't balance any budgets without touching capital gains and real estate wealth.

Costs are rising for everyone, sure, but disproportionately impacting the Bottom 80% of Americans or Illinois residents.

In the end, it's capitalism/profits and Indiana might just get rewarded for being in a better overall situation financial health and investment-wise.

Maybe less government spending would help?

Regardless, Illinois dragged it out and put the Bears on the wait list. The Bears needed to do something.

Wow.

With the massive hole at LT, 2026 may have to be a "transition" year...I don't know how they fill the holes they have.

Absolutely brutal, especially as the LT and C spot seemed secure as of about Week 15 of last season.

Him walking away from millions on his contract indicates to me something must've happened in his life. I wish Dalman and his family the absolute best.

Agreed.  Something big happened.  WIth football, you have to wonder CTE or the like.

Tyler Linderbaum, cmon down.

I think Tyler Biadasz is the more likely option. Linderbaum is gonna be highly sought after and will likely price himself out the Bears range. Biadasz, like Dalman, also calls out Blitz protection and other things on the line. He'll be a fine add.

Yeah, they have $10 million to replace Dalman. Linderbaum is gonna cost around $20 million a year on the open market. Biadasz would be a cheaper short term solution.

This stinks - but this also might mean some different cap flexibility in place - if they are more confident given Thuney, Jonah, and Wright, so then your ability at center or even drafting a younger player (or trading for one in a more cap friendly manner) frees up some added flexibility for other moves.

But man - talk about a shocker. I wonder if they had any indication at all or if this kind of puts the Bears in a tougher spot (better now than a week from now).

They're already meeting with some Centers, so I feel like he gave them some heads up
