In fairness it’s the biggest game Teel will play in all year (well until tomorrow - if he is able to go).

MLB spring training is more important

Reminds me of when we lost Eloy for 6 months trying to rob a homer in the WBC final for the Dominican Republic... oh wait that was in ST. What about every other ST injury that happens all the time???

It’s like a hammy pull.  No one is thinking he needs his leg amputated.  It’s a sport in which injuries happen, just like in ST.  It sucks but it is what it is.

It is to the fans. But not really to the players participating

What the f***? Who was joking about his injury lol

Also, shouldn’t he be more irrationally angry at Teel for deciding to play for Team Italy and then getting injured?

Teel was still in uniform walking around high fiving teammates after the game, so unlikely to be too serious

It is to their egos. Not to their MLB team

Hoping this is the case. I'm sure we'll get a bunch more details tomorrow

Was he high-fiving them with his foot?

He has already had surgery and been given a cybernetic leg, so yes he was.

Me too.

Would remind me of the top of the 1st inning of the Angels first game of the 2002 season….angels gave up a bunch of runs in their home opener and I was in attendance with some friends and my best buddy got up and yelled - well this seasons over and sat down (whole outfield bleachers laughed)….well we still give him s%*# about that to this day….i hope you guys get to do the same to me!

Note: Angels went on to win World Series that year!

Last year under Disney, right?

Because he wouldn't start over Raleigh or Will Smith...

As much as I like Jack Reacher, I haven’t seen that movie yet.  Waiting for the Peaky Blinders movie.

Yeah

Yeah

It must be strange to be a Sox fan and also watch your local team be run similarly and acquire pretty much every Sox castoff they can get their hands on.  You are living in the baseball Twilight Zone.  At least the Sox appear to be on the rise.  Not so sure about the Angels.

Both teams need new owners - they will otherwise be pathetic until than. Sad to say but I’ve come to admit it. I do agree that Sox are at least trending in right direction - might even have a pretty good foundation at same time new ownership happens.

I'm more happy with Teel playing like a star than I am horrified at his injury I think... but I'm not sure. I'm not a reliable fan. Mead and Antonacci are playing good too. Quero's spring training and Romo and Lee goddamn we have depth there but Teel to me felt like an allstar (so may be quero.) If he's healthy eventually we can have a rotation of quero, lee and romo that are all looking great i guess and trade for the future out of that group

I dont want to also doomsday about other sports but the Bears' left tackle basically ended his career trying to save a sack in the playoffs and I think personally i'd rather have him than a slap on the back win over the packers with the NL West outclassing everyone. then their center retiring. The drastic difference between teel as a batter or a catcher is enough to stop the presses on trading Quero and thank thank thankfully we didn't.  Hopefully it's a pulled hammy. I'm coming off a pretty bad getting hit by a car thing and i'm ready to injure my entire body again by friday just because not moving sucks.

He seemed fine after the game so that’s a good sign hopefully.

Korey Lee at the ready.

This is why playing in these tournaments is dubious.

Not sure i agree. Can get injured in spring training as well.

So temporarily solves the two or three catcher question.

His reaction had me concerned. He looked really angry. But he is also a huge competitor so maybe he was more angry that he had to leave the game than the injury itself. Hoping for the best.

THIS ISNT FUNNY

He's Italian he'll probably be back week two.

And Italian heritage?

Emergency back up catcher tonight?

Italy manager Francisco Cervelli said the team will have to replace Teel on the roster with bullpen catcher Andres Annunziata. “He's one of my catchers in Italy,” Cervelli said. “That's the only one we've got.
