We don't have a staff that is going to be able to pitch around defensive mistakes. Two in one inning, I don't blame smith too much there.

Ehh, he walked some guys as well and threw a bad pitch to Contreras. With that said, if you’re going to throw changeups to righties, Vargas can’t be so far off the line

At least with the day off tomorrow, these relievers should be rested enough to get lit up again.

The good news is the Mis isn't going to last much longer.

bunch of hacking away bums smh

Offense sucks, defense sucks, pitching sucks.. they are in midseason form 3 innings into the season boys.

Lineup is so bad

Now Brewers fans can say, “See? We didn’t need him anyways!”

Skenes didn't get out of the 1st today with bad defense. Obviously Smith isn't in his class, but I wouldn't panic on him yet.

Lmao

Sloppy Sox wore out their pitcher.

Oh, I know it’s just one game but that’s what Brewers fans will say to further deny that leaving him unprotected in the Rule 5 Draft last year was a bad move.

Im not going to panic about any performances so far in game 1 but what I will panic about is the terrible lineup put together today and the continued puzzling strategy decisions.

It will be better with Teel and Baldwin back, but man im worried about the pitching especially if Shane Smith isnt going to be good.

Getz doesn’t look thrilled.

I think that Shane Smith had a huge jump in fastball velo last spring(2025). Given that the Rule V draft is during the winter meetings, there is probably not a lot of way for the Brewers to have known that when they left him unprotected.

Some awful at bats now. Colson already seems to be pressing

Mis has 16 swing and misses so far. 21 is his current high in his short career.

Anyone surprised?

What he's been able to do has been miraculous. He's taken a 101 loss team, and in 2 short years, made them a 102 loss team. Not many have done that. Only 6 other AL teams have been able to lose 100 games 3 consecutive seasons. Now he's going for something that hasn't been accomplished in 90 years....4 100 loss seasons in a row.

So did I hear that right, we have this shitty lineup construction today incase we may or may not have to use a pinch hitter at some point in the game?

Great eye….trade him

If we're not going to abandon ship, just gotta wait it out until there is an ownership change. It's coming.

Pereira I guess swings at everything.

Brooks I miss you :((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

Having to start him against a hard throwing righty on opening day is comical

I am still shocked they kept him without seeing much of him this spring.

Brutal.

Not one pitch close to the zone and he strikes out on 3 pitches, why is he starting?

Pathetic AB
