If Ishiba wasn't in the picture, I would bet dollars to donuts Mune isn't signed to an extension. Even with Ishbia's money it isn't a 100% lock for Mune to stay.

It will be very interesting what direction the Sox go with Mune, Gonzalez, Bonemer, and possibly Roch.

Ishbia is not and may not be in the picture as you say next year when it is time to extend Mune. There is no way JR and the current organization will let Mune walk without offering him an enormous contract. He is too important to this team and to this city of great baseball fans. It would be like allowing Michael Jordan to walk. Not going to happen.

We have no excuse not to buy a top-end SP in free agency this offseason. As such, I’d rather keep Bonemer and go with a cheaper SP at the deadline. I truly believe we should not be doing “all-in” trad

Gonzo can go back down to Charlotte and stop his arb clock once Mune is back. That's fine. He just got a nice pay pump for 6 weeks or whatever and now he knows he close he is and what he has to contin

Get Sonny Gray and Garrett Whitlock.

They will cover the buyout and part of the contract for this year if needed.

Beni is having a decent year.Perhaps he could be traded for a pitcher. Have Gonzalez and Mune alternate betweeen DH and first Base.

This would honestly be great. If you could get it done

Seems like you are not taking into consideration all of the glowing Mune quotes expressing his loyalty as a White Sox player. According to him himself, he wants to stay here.

You have to take all those with a grain of salt though. It all depends on what a team is willing to pay for his services.

And Getz has said he wants to keep him here (with an understanding that he's earning a bigger payday). Both sides will try to work something out whether it's this summer or after the season.

100%

I put the probability that Mune stays at 80/20.

With the Padres sputtering, I keep thinking about Mason Miller. I’d have to imagine that would cost Bonemer though if they are even willing to trade him at all.

MLB-TV a few days ago was speculating he could go to the Yankees. (Why are we not surprised?)

I hope you are right.

I received a email from the White Sox today. They want season ticket holders to renew for the 2027 season before August 3, 2026. I don't remember them asking for our money so far in advance. I wonder what happens to the money if no games are played in 2027.

It wouldn't surprise me if Miller was traded. The Padres are a bad team. There's no way that team will be in the playoffs. Their window has closed.

The money stays deposited in the White Sox bank drawing interest and ticket holders are told they can automatically have tickets for the 2028 season.

The Padres will be rebuilding in 2027. Yea, let's do what they did.
Or we could be like the Brewers.

I'd rather we trade less and cover the cost, but we all know how Jerry works.

That's pretty dang confident. I am not so sure. I give it 50/50 or even less. I hope they're lining up long time sponsors if Mune's signs long term. That might be the only way JR pays for him. Some big time sponsors investing advertising in a winning team with an international superstar is like welcome to the big leagues JR . But if Mune goes to Free Agency the chances become much less. He has to be resigned before he hits the open market and would help a lot if Mune hits just as well after he comes back and the Sox win the division. Lots of factors in play here.

A budding superstar falls into your lap that can bring a country with him… YOU DO NOT LET THAT GO.

Especially when said player expresses loyalty to this team.

He’s staying and if he doesn’t I’m going to send Jerry some of my fucking s%*#.

If games are not played or cancelled, they'll likely do what they did during Covid - carry over your deposit until games are played you can attend. I had my entire 2021 tickets paid off after no fans in 2020.

Remember JR is the same guy who told Michael Jordan that paying him, I think it was 23 million his last season with the Bulls was "something I'll regret." (That from the book by Bob Green)
