Rogers is a strong leader and solid behind the dish, he'd be better than Romo and Quero despite him not being good either. If they are talking about moving Adley

Won’t cost big time. Makes the most sense. With their low payroll commitments for next year, they should be a threat to sign him in the offseason. Keyword being "should."

Keyword being "should."Yeah - but key for me is that doesn't even matter. He's now looking like the most impact player for 2026 but isn't coming as the most sought after. Everyone is telegraphing his move to Dodgers - so there is no illusion you get a benefit of having him to negotiate. The tigers HAVE to trade him. It's all depressing it. And it feels like the best deadline deals have always been 'top pitcher with depressed value due to age/salary/control' where they don't get a 'haul' but the team gets big impact.I'd think if we included a Schulz you easily top any offer. We cry about a pitching prospect who hasn't looked tops in a while and instead get a top pitcher this year that takes us to playoffs. The tigers say 'wow we got a top pitching prospect for a guy we were gonna lose?" and I say 'trade top pitching prospects instead of position players'. Schulz + Boston Smith + Jeral Perez - i'm not sure that gets topped.

I'm very curious to see if they move him after seemingly being annointed the best catcher to ever live by O's fans since before he came into the league. He would be such a massive upgrade here though even if his current slash lines dwindle a bit, his defense is that good.

I’m just confused on how we add all three of those guys plus Fedde (potentially) from a tactical standpoint. In my mind, we have six relievers that are more or less roster locks in Taylor, Hicks, Dominguez, Hudson, Newcomb, & Murphy. I think Schweitzer is very much replaceable with one of McDougal or Smith. And Richards has been pretty solid as a mop-up guy and not sure if Fedde is even an upgrade (which is ok). Post-season roster wise, you can probably replace your long man with one of Smith or McDougal, although either guy would need some major league seasoning beforehand. Great ideas but hard to pull it all off.I do wonder if there is an ability to do some buying and selling here. Would they sell one of their LH relievers in a constrained market (and replace with Hagen) to help offset part of the prospect cost needed to add a controllable SP? It’s going to be interesting to see what Getz does here because I keep hearing we are going to see more teams doing both buying & selling this year due to how limited certain markets are.Completely agree. The bullpen is actually pretty good and like you said, Richards is solid in his mop-up role. And this is another part of why I've been annoyed by the "make every starter prospect a reliever" strategy. Mason Adams could very well be an upgrade over Schultz/Fedde in the rotation. McDougal was brought back as a reliever because they said he wouldn't be fully stretched out until mid-August... well guess what, that's only ~14 days away and he's still in AAA anyway, so you might as well have stretched him out and added him to the MLB rotation. He needs the innings too...

But I do think part of the interest in Mason Miller isn't just 'wow dominant backend guy' but 'if we don't get a solid guy here we'll never be able to convert taylor'
