I guess he wasn't kidding about being ready to sign ASAP lol

Can’t wait to see the rest of these bonuses.

So a million saved?

$11,350,600 - $10,350,000 = $1,000,600

The bonuses for the ranked college guys picked in the teens will be interesting - NIL effect.

That's a lot of money

Is NCAA baseball really much of a moneymaker for colleges? I wonder how much they can offer baseball players. I get the basketball and football deals since those sports are huge.

I went to a USC Gamecocks' (Columbia, SC) baseball game a few years back. The place was packed.

Not a huge moneymaker, no. But the school's not paying it...the donors are. Some of these schools have donors with Ishbia level resources. The baseball NIL hasn't gotten that much out of hand...yet. But when a player ranked 250 isn't picked until the, what, 400s, I assumed it was NIL.
I read that the Oklahoma pitcher Johnson had a first-round grade out of high school. It's a big bet on yourself. (I love that pick, fwiw).

I watched this today. The Sox and all their FO people are so transparent about what they are doing. It's so refreshing in contrast the KW cloak and dagger act. Turns out they hid what they did because it was so bad. And Frank Thomas still gets a bad rap from his dealings with KW. The one guy who should've gone down in history as one of the greatest RH hitters of all time in the era of steroids is now deemed bitter when he actually was dealing with idiots.

can't defend and isn't a great athlete

Strange, I’ve heard the opposite- that he can play second, third, corner of, or catcher. They announced him as a 2B because they want him to focus on what they believe in most ( his hit tool ).

When all is said and done he winds up in Winston-Salem. He will be playing this year. It's a pretty aggressive placement but if what they see in his 1st stop in Charlotte at the draft camp maybe gives them pause then Kanny will be the destination . Something like getting used to the wood bat might be a consideration or minor swing adjustments if they want to tackle that right away or just take a look at how he does with his college swing.

Winston - no way you’re serious.

I think they have a post draft thing in Arizona for a bit, then up to W-S I’m guessing.

Roch should start in AA. He is a different level of prospect. He doesnt need single A.

Weird, because everything I've read is Prosek has no position, can't defend and isn't a great athlete.

I feel like that's a very high risk profile - a bat-only high school pick.

Interesting. I've read big throwing arm, probably not athletic enough to stay at short, probably too good a hitter to let develop at catcher, so 3b. That does sound like a lefty Bonemer to me.
