I mean, this would only make sense as part of a larger trade.

Which if it’s for a starter who is controllable or let’s say Tyler Stephenson

Chris Getz is bad at this. People mistaken the ability to hire smart people for draft purposes with being good as the sox GM right now. This guy has gotten taken to the woodshed in almost every deal

Just being real here, it's quite possible and perhaps likely that Luisangel will outperform Doyle at every facet of baseball going forward.

This would be selling low

I wouldn’t consider Doyle as a return something that is “selling high” on Pereira.

I prefer Pereira - think he's going to be a solid big leaguer...is this also creating room for Hays?

He's a below average player with no options left, I'm half joking here but he can't really get any lower and he did have a great game yesterday.

My gut feeling is if Doyle is coming, it's just sort of filling the Nolan Jones slot of minor league depth reclamation project. Becomes more important of a role given the impending decision regarding Hays.

Apparently it’s official

Maybe Pereira is being used in a trade for Stephenson?

for?

wasn't he a RoY candidate 2-3 seasons ago?

I guess Doyle goes down to make room for Hays.

No word on a return yet

Why

I can’t imagine it’s very much return. He’s a non tender candidate.

Do you like Doyle more than Junior Perez? I could see it either way.

Must believe in his defense, power, speed combo and that they feel they know how to get him back on track.

3.6

then 0.4

now -0.5

Only 28 and a great defender in CF.

Bat obviously the issue.

Gotta be an OF moving in a trade? No idea why backup CF would be a priority right now

Uh oh you wont like who we gave up

I think they are genuinely worried about Peters falling off and need an actual CF to give him a rest
