  • Literally, no one will say we should have done that.

Chris Getz is bad at this. People mistaken the ability to hire smart people for draft purposes with being good as the sox GM right now. This guy has gotten taken to the woodshed in almost every deal

  • This “teams don’t get credit when players work hard and player development is fake” is the worst bit on a site that includes Greg. Getz if anything deserves credit for going after players that show th

My bigger concern is that in Castillo and Doyle, I’m not sure those moves make the 26 team better.

Brazoban should be better than Dominguez at least...certainly much less expensive.

Taking lots of gambles that they can fix both Castillo and Doyle.

Almost feels a bit arrogant/stubborn.

Second guy we've acquired with an actual asset where the team trading the player had basically moved on from them as viable pieces.

I'm saying long term. Guy's got an OPS+ of 51.

A 570 OPS playing in Colorado lol.

Feels way too cute to me…normally you try to add producing players at the deadline, not a bunch of projects.

Can't wait to see Adams go from saving the rotation to middling guy who is easily replaceable.

He's got three+ years of arb eligibility and minor league options, but he's also a legit non-tender candidate. Upside is an actual Luis Robert replacement whereas Adams's is probably a third starter. Prefer trading Adams to Oppor or Larson or obviously McDougal I guess. Sandlin I wouldn't have minded to see in the trade.

Just being real here, it's quite possible and perhaps likely that Luisangel will outperform Doyle at every facet of baseball going forward.

Yea but he is still terrible in center so I doubt he outperforms him there

Looks like we just gave 400k to Vielma. We gave up on him after 1 month? Very strange.

So this is where Vielma becomes the next Tatis Jr. and becomes a star in a few years eh?

I trust the Sox hitting department though so I wonder if they can get Doyle back on track.

Nothing says we’re really going for it like acquiring projects at the deadline that require financial & prospect investment!

Not sure how his stuff plays in Colorado

I don't get this trade, Doyle can't hit and he plays in Coors Field.

Doyle has a Trout like body but not sure he has the speed he used to, doesn't take walks and only hit 1 HR this year in over 129 PA.

1 good year in 2024 then hasn't adjusted to how he's been pitched. He's a project.

My thoughts as well. They got lucky enough that this season has worked out the way it has. Will these reclamation products work. We shall see. Definitely underwhelming returns as of this minute. It’s like waiting for that second shoe to fall to make these make sense….still short a starter and catcher

Fuckkkk, Carlos Vielma is my guy in the DSL. He has been great there as a 16 year old. Hope this doesn't bite us in the ass.

Mason Adams too? Sheesh.

The new "coop will fix 'em". Lol

Isn't the point of having an org that can supposedly turn guys around is that you dont have to pay much to acquire the project? Sox are paying for these guys as if they've already turned them around.

Would it be possible to move up the trade deadline

I guess ill wait to see the final product but this one makes no sense at this moment.

Vielma for me. But it's so hard to assess DSL guys.

Same here. He's done really well as a 16 year old. I hate this.

This might be the dumbest trade Getz has done yet

This is horrendous. One good trade and two crappy ones.

Chris Getz is bad at this. People mistaken the ability to hire smart people for draft purposes with being good as the sox GM right now.

This guy has gotten taken to the woodshed in almost every deal he's made, and the ones that weren't bad ended up successful because the player put in a s%*# ton of work 2 years after the deal (vargas). Every new move solidifies this for me. He doesn't know how to value MLB talent or assets. Just my opinion of course.

and y'all thought I was wrong when I said to take the keys away from Getz, y'all get it yet?
