This offense gets shut down too often. I'm sure the board police won't like this post. Game to game you see such terrible approaches. Swing at balls watch strikes go right down the middle.

It’s the highest scoring offense in the American League.

I assume most offenses around the league are mostly feast or famine and we just don't see it because we aren't watching.

I think this challenge stuff will come to a head in the postseason and will probably be reconfigured next year. Given the last two weeks, I think teams should have four challenges. The amount of missed calls is insane.

That was out chance.

Should have scored at least one, 3 ks is the worst outcome

Looks like the only pitches approximating hittable were the backdoor sliders and that's kinda how they work by definition (hitters rarely swing at them). Of course you had some chasing that you hope could have produced more mistake pitches. Colson is really the only one who had bad chases though from what I see.

First pitch Braden swung at was bad

Smith is pitching a great game, and it's all for naught because this offense is playing like they jammed a crayon up their nose before the first inning.

Just from birds-eye view it looks like the teams have played about even (maybe both bad)

The difference is they hit a few hanging sliders in the air, we grounded or lined out.

At least they won't be no hit

They score in bunches . they get shut down a lot as well. That is true.

Great outing from Hagan. He really filled up the zone.

Happy to see him become a late-inning weapon for this team after a inconsistent year at Charlotte

Doyle blows. I would let peters hit v lefties

Doyle is just brutal

Another amazing game from the deadline guys. Doyle is so bad, what were they thinking

As someone else had mentioned, they can be a feast or famine offense. Today's performance really stands out after having some good offensive games at Wrigley and facing a some pitching that they should have teed off on.

The reactions are a bit extreme today, but not necessarily unwarranted.

Why are we using Doyle as a PH so fucking much?

It's so damn frustrating watching this team lately.

Seems like they are NEVER on the same page. If the offense is humming, the pitching goes to absolute s%*#.

Then the pitching becomes excellent just for the offense to go into a hole and die.

This outfield is just providing very little production. I believe 5 homers since the ASB.

Do our guys realize they are in a pennant race?

Jesus, Doyle is a black hole on offense

It’s why they’re a .500 team since the ASB

Braden should have been the one challenging, it was a ball called a strike. The Chase challenge was ill advised, it was clearly a strike. We need more contact from the Montgomerys , and maybe they should not be hitting back to back as they strike out too often. IMO.

Why was he ever acquired?

Because day by day Venable is becoming more of an idiot.

Their back end of the bullpen is so good. This game is over
