EVERYBODY hopes that somehow Castillo can turn things around but the facts are facts, he hasn't looked good all season for either Seattle or the Sox.

It probably isn't going to happen and Getz is going to have to live with this.

The only question is how much damage is this deal going to do in the long run?

Sounds like you all have that covered. You're not teaching anybody anything. I watch the games, I read the wrap-ups. Is there a prize for expressing this more vociferously and quicker than anybody else?

Seriously, watching a pitcher get chased in the 4th and then commenting, "boy, this guy sucks" isn't really deep analysis.

I was trying to be courteous but that appears to be wasted on you.

You continue to post about Castillo needing more time, defending these deadline deals et al.

You painted yourself into a corner and now you can live with it.

This isn't knee-jerk, people were saying literally most if not all of Getz's deadline deals were stupid and actually hurt the club. And they were saying it immediately after it happened. You defended them which is fine, no problem with that.

But it seems others knew what they were talking about more than you in this case. Again no problem with that.

You thought wrong, it happens to all of us.

Now stop digging a deeper hole.

Castillo is terrible. He was terrible with Seattle, he's terrible with the Sox and Getz f@#$E%^ up big time.

General manager Chris Getz wondered whether Castillo is trying too hard to impress in his new surroundings. He also said the Sox are making tweaks with Castillo’s mechanics, and they saw progress with his lower half Thursday in Houston.

Wow, this Hannah has to be the worst baseball writer I’ve seen, just based on this one article. Look at some of these excerpts below. Pham is the starting right fielder? Even if he platoons with Montgomery, he would likely be the weak side platoon mate facing lefties. Not sure I would consider that a starter. Also, she is bemoaning not giving a 28-year old catcher in Charlotte a chance. Those are worse moves than the Castillo trade? Really?

Only AI would decide best catching candidates strictly by the general category of batting average...if that was the only category screened for.

Also doesn't even consider a starter versus back up role/context.

In that sense, it would probably also argue for playing Grichuk everyday and benching Mune and probably Colson to play Meidroth at SS and Antonacci second base.

How about starting Kay for 3 innings and bringing in Castillo and see what happens, having the bullpen at the ready. All they have to do is get down the home stretch of the season. Maybe the Sox can fix or utilize both Kay & Castillo at the same time.

I thought I heard Jimmy on the Future Sox podcast 2 weeks ago mention how playoffs teams' patch together starts using bullpens.
