Hopefully this stream of embarrassments will end with the change in ownership in a few years.

Ironic how thoroughly Getz has cleaned house, but one of the select few who survived the purge turned out to be an arsehole. Seeing interviews with Shirley, he didn't seem like the guy to be like that. But I guess that's how you get away with it. The resignation makes me think that there's either some contrition or the evidence is just seriously overwhelming.

Garret Guest was the other finalist for the job when Shirley got promoted, so I could see it being him. Just not sure if he can handle that level of responsibility given the he commits to pushing Jeep Wranglers and hyping up Kelenic on Soxtalk.

In no way am I condoning this, but I’m gonna guess the good ole boys club that makes up veteran MLB scouting is full of guys who have no problem commenting on female bodies.

If it’s Sox staff members/interns being commented on…versus the typical banter of minor leaguers at a local Hooters after a game, two very different scenarios, like football players swooning over cheerleaders or Wonyoung from IVE (Kpop) throwing out the first pitch at Citifield in a barely there outfit and hearing catcalls from the dugout.

Thirty years ago, you couldn’t spend ten minutes around the minor league players without hearing maricon this or puta that or suck my dick f—-t…or players constantly hitting on on our “models” manning the souvenir scorecard booth. Then there all the groupies invited with free passes to sit behind the plate with the scouts/radar guns and upcoming pitchers charting…everyone waiting to go out after the game together. Married players were a rare commodity…só it was definitely a machismo environment.

Mix in lots of alcohol as well.

Executives in the front office need to be held to a much higher standard in terms of behavioral expectations.

Putting threads together of surveys saying this was happening in 2021, a MLB tip leading to an investigation in 2022, and now it happening at a massive and premiere event in public in front of everyone in the baseball world to see, it is obvious this was a long running pattern. If you are comfortable enough to do it this many times AND in front of a baseball whos who at an event like this, he had zero fear of consequences. That's a pattern of behavior, not a one time oops, to get to that point. You don't act like that in public initially, you work up to that over time. That means everyone knew, and everyone allowed it to happen.

That's chilling, disgusting, and ultra-dissapointing. Hell it's embarrassing.

Especially after he was already investigated once, and somehow got away with it. He probably assumed he was untouchable.

I do not know the details or how many infractions occurred but if HR had to get involved it was serious.
