8/14 @ 7:05 PM Game Thread

after a great sweep against the Tigers the sox will look to keep the groove up against the Royals

it might seem like a slacker series, but they Royals swept the bosox last week so the Sox will have to keep the intensity level high to win the game

As Will I!

Hopefully this is the roll we've been hoping for. They must get at least 3 of these 4 against KC.

3 wins in this series is what everyone needs to be aiming for.

Anything more will be great and anything less will be a dissapointment.

Just go out and get hte job done boys

Cannot overlook this series or letdown.

Indeed. This is a scary series from the standpoint that we've just come off a 5-1 record against argubly the two best teams in the AL. It would be natural for the intensity to slip a little against the Royals. I'm praying that's not the case. Anything less than 3 of 4 would be really bad.

This 1st game of the series is HUGE.

It's the one that scares me the most too. Anything less than 3 of 4 here is unacceptable.

The sox are now in the "no letdown mode" for 4 games. I think they'll be alright, good for 3 of 4 or a sweep. They are taking advantage of teams mistakes and the Royals young guys will make a few a game [errors, pitches grooved down the middle on 2-0, etc]. If the sox losing stretch around the break taught them anything, it's that they must show up every game from here on in, that any team could beat them if they let up. I don't expect a let down one bit.

Keep up the pitching, and the offense will come through. Go sox! :gosox2:

As everyone has already stated...3 out of 4 is a must here. I will be there Tuesday..back to back Vazquez games for me. Hopefully he pitches as well as he did versus the Yanks. The good thing is that Freddy misses the Royals..they rock him.

Come on Big Jon...time to find that Mojo you had a few weeks ago.

And if Sweeney comes up late in the game with men on? JUST WALK HIM.

I can't wait to get to the park tomorrow. The atmosphere should be amazing. :headbang :headbang :headbang

Go get 'em Jon! :gosox2:

I might be at all four but definitely mondays and thursday.

I think we should be able to gain at least 2.5 games on tiggers

I'll be there tomorrow. I've been to a sox/kc series the last three years (inc. this one), that's just crazy, also all of them in August, also all wins. This is the first time I won't see Garcia pitch, I'll be someone else.

Man, I just realized these will be my last home games I get to be at before I move to Florida :(

I'm putting my 1-5 record on the line at the park tomorrow night. YIKES. In every game I've been to this year either Widger or Vazquez has started though, so it's not my fault.

As someone said earlier, I expect the atmosphere at the game tomorrow night to be great. I know I'll be cheering early and often as usual and I expect everyone else to be doing the same. Hopefully we have better cheers than "Let's go White Sox clap-clap-clapclapclap" That cheer gets annoying.

Let's go Jon. Forget about what happened against the Yanks and use the Royals to get yourself back in line.

After the intensity of this weekend's series, I hope to hell the team can keep themselves up and rolling.

This should be a sweep and an improving of our position vs. Detroit even more.

So, Jon...offense...

Me and my forthform chums thought it would be quite corking if you could give the bullpen a decent lead so that MMac, Thor, and the big man could take a day off.

ozzie says he's worried about a let down and Konerko says it would only be natural after two big series like they just had. It's up to Jon to see that it doesn't happen. (a glance up at the scoreboard to see Detroit losing wouldn't hurt either!)

3 of 4 is what we need! The Royals shouldn't be taken lightly. They swept Boston and Grudzielenek has been kind of clutch for them this season. We must keep the intensity on high and play some smart fundemental baseball.

we're in big trouble: we're up against an All-Star pitcher!
