I'm ready for some Sox news. How about the inevitable Quentin trade? Where's that guy going?

Can be included as a PTBNL per the old CBA. Not sure if that has changed.

Yeah, I don't even feel like checking. Pain in the ass trying to fully understand both the MLB and NBA systems.

Anyone find a link for the MLB Network Winter Meetings coverage? There was supposed to be a live feed on mlb.com from 4-5 pm ET, but I have yet to find it...

While I'd love to see some pieces get moved this week, I'm not going to flip out if nothing happens. Intuitively, I think it may make a lot of sense to let the big free agents sign before pulling the trigger on a trade, ESPECIALLY because we have pitchers to deal and the list of suitors for SPs is much larger than the pool of talent available on the market.

Now, the Quentin market, I think, is smaller so it may make sense to dump him before guys like Willingham sign. But that's just my speculation.

I heard that Willingham will be signing with Tampa Bay

Jay Cowley tweeted earlier today that Florida and the Sox had been talking FWIW.

Olney for Cooper! :lolhitting

Floyd for Morrison?

Plausible if Florida signs Pujols or Fielder. They could move Sanchez to LF in that case.

I'm told the White Sox Brass and Reds brass have an appt to chat later

Speculation as to who they would be discussing?

Probably Alonso.

Danks or Floyd makes a ton of sense for them, as does Santos if Sox want to trade Sergio. Don't forget that the Sox LOVE Grandal, and would have picked him before Sale.

Probably Alonso.

Homer Bailey maybe? You remember Dye almost went there a couple years ago. Once the Sox like a guy, they stick with it until they get him, even if they're near retirement.

It has been reported that the Reds are apparently willing to shop almost anyone.

I wonder if they would be willing to part with either catcher, Devin Mesoraco or Grandal.

Meso is going nowhere. Top 10 - 15 MLB prospect who is major league ready. Grandal maybe. I'm a huge fan of Yasmani.

That makes sense to talk then.

Maybe the Reds want Dunn back.

Maybe not.

Yonder Alonso. Yes, please.

I like Alonso, but we are in for some circus like corner OF defense next season and beyond. De Aza or Rios will have much work to do going to both sides.

Rather have Grandal. This sounds funny, but where would we play Yonder?
