June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 03:08 AM) Just read three mock drafts that had Adams at #22, #31 and #34 I agree, I thought no later than 30.... I bet some teams forgot about him being there. players who were rated lower than adam was getting drafted. great pick. plain and simple.
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:18 PM) From that awful follow through Maybe he will have to have Jake Peavy surgery one day.
June 6, 201411 yr anybody know the slot difference between a comp pick and the 44th? say, 34th vs 44th? Edited June 6, 201411 yr by ron883
June 6, 201411 yr John Hart, working for the Braves now, seemed very familiar with Adams. He sounded like he really liked the pick. Hope he gets signed and in the system.
June 6, 201411 yr I've got to say the Sox have been one of the winners from tonight's draft. Blue Jays definitely have won day 1.
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:26 PM) I've got to say the Sox have been one of the winners from tonight's draft. Blue Jays definitely have won day 1. Brewers, too.
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:02 PM) Thanks for keeping me in the loop 2 people knew. Check your pms
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 09:10 PM) Who is Adams compared to in the MLB? Mike Adams, currently with Phils.
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (ron883 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:25 PM) anybody know the slot difference between a comp pick and the 44th? say, 34th vs 44th? $1,650,400 versus $1,282,700
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:06 PM) Marc Hulet @marchulet 12m Not loving the delivery from #whitesox pick Spencer Adams based on http://mlb.com video #MLBDraft I would disagree. He doesn't have a great follow through but it's not as upright as Rodon. Throw a little across the body as well. Good arm slot. Overall, pretty sound.
June 6, 201411 yr Holy s***, the HS pick, Cameron Varga had a 0.00 ERA his senior year and struck out 33 straight batters at some point. LOL.
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:30 PM) I would disagree. He doesn't have a great follow through but it's not as upright as Rodon. Throw a little across the body as well. Good arm slot. Overall, pretty sound. Hulet is probably the pop scout I'd trust the LEAST. He's the FanGraphs guy, and he's an admitted "statistically-oriented" scout. That just hasn't ever made much sense to me.
June 6, 201411 yr On csn right now, says white sox select Carlos Rondon. s*** won't go away anytime soon. Edited June 6, 201411 yr by bmags
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:31 PM) Holy s***, the HS pick, Cameron Varga had a 0.00 ERA his senior year and struck out 33 straight batters at some point. LOL. Didn't Danish have a 0.00 ERA last year too?
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:31 PM) Holy s***, the HS pick, Cameron Varga had a 0.00 ERA his senior year and struck out 33 straight batters at some point. LOL. And threw a no hitter tonight...albeit against weaker competition but still damn
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:33 PM) On csn right now, says white sox select Carlos Rondon. s*** won't go away anytime soon. Padilla's article switches between Rodon and Rondon throughout. Fun times.
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (Señor Ding-Dong @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:34 PM) Didn't Danish have a 0.00 ERA last year too? Yeah. But he didn't strike out 33 straight, or the 22 straight record set in the 70's.
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:32 PM) Hulet is probably the pop scout I'd trust the LEAST. He's the FanGraphs guy, and he's an admitted "statistically-oriented" scout. That just hasn't ever made much sense to me. Everyone has their own opinion of mechanics. Everyone keys on different things so who knows what he is looking at.
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:35 PM) Everyone has their own opinion of mechanics. Everyone keys on different things so who knows what he is looking at. Thorburn (BP) is the guy to go to for mechanics, IMO. He did biomechanical analysis professionally for years. I think it was for some video scouting company or something.
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 6, 2014 -> 04:34 AM) Padilla's article switches between Rodon and Rondon throughout. Fun times. I loved this quote: A left-hander who could rise quickly through the system probably wasn’t the perfect fit for the Chicago White Sox Gosh darn those fast moving lefties with frontline potential.
June 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:38 PM) I loved this quote: Gosh darn those fast moving lefties with frontline potential. Idiot.
June 6, 201411 yr Patrick Ebert @PGPatrickEbert · 25m Spencer Adams, #WhiteSox, is a great pick in round 2 - was very sharp at #PGNational, easy to see future increased velo He can already dial it up to 95/96
