July 6, 201510 yr I hope he can regain his old form... before the injury, and strictly based on statistics and WAR, he was one of the top-10 relievers in all of baseball, closers included.
July 7, 201510 yr Great news! Sure hope he can get back to his old self. ''Nate looked great,'' Ventura said. ''Velocity-wise, he could probably go pitch now.'' Edited July 7, 201510 yr by BigEdWalsh
July 7, 201510 yr QUOTE (ron883 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) Nate Jones just isn't a very good baseball player I love the insight?
July 7, 201510 yr QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 07:45 PM) I love the insight? He hasn't retired a batter in ever
July 7, 201510 yr QUOTE (ron883 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) Nate Jones just isn't a very good baseball player I hope he can regain his old form... before the injury, and strictly based on statistics and WAR, he was one of the top-10 relievers in all of baseball, closers included. Are there two of them????
July 7, 201510 yr Author QUOTE (ron883 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) Nate Jones just isn't a very good baseball player There are things that are not very good here, but it isn't Nate Jones...
July 7, 201510 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 01:26 PM) Hitting 100 in a sim game. Good for him. I saw him running into the dugout from the bullpen on Sunday. He looks bigger to me now. The key with him is control. Good to see he can still dial it up. Edited July 7, 201510 yr by Dick Allen
July 9, 201510 yr Jones on his way to Winston Salem starting today for a rehab assignment. Reportedly 96-98 in last simulated game. While on subject, Crain pitched in 5 games in the Arizona Rookie League (counted as simulated games).
July 9, 201510 yr I hope he recovers, that has to be so tough to nearly finish rehabbing one injury only to suffer from another long-term one.
July 11, 201510 yr @WSDashBaseball Great work from @whitesox RHP Nate Jones in the 8th Infield 1B 5-4-3 DP Fly out 8 pitches, 6 strikes, hit upper 90s pic.twitter.com/DnvV9Nm8ue
July 11, 201510 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) Great news. Can't wait to get him back. I assume they are shooting for the end of July if everything goes well?
July 11, 201510 yr Anything this year is a bonus. Just let him get his head straight that he is healthy. Put him on an inning every third or fourth day which is a lot easier in minors.
July 11, 201510 yr Nate Jones pitched a scoreless inning at Single-A Winston-Salem on Fri. Gave up hit. Of eight pitches, four were 100 mph. #WhiteSox https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/619913567622574080
July 11, 201510 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) The picture worries me a bit. His hand is to full elevation before his foot hits the ground. This means the arm will start to accelerate without lower body support. The beginning of the acceleration is all arm. Not usually a good way to protect the arm. I wonder if the back issue is keeping him from complete rotation? It doesn't look like that from the picture though.

Perhaps this photo captures the beginning of the extended 'pose' he has previously featured. His foot may land yet before he begins his acceleration process.

July 12, 201510 yr QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:41 PM) 4 at 100 ? Did he throw that hard before his injury ? yes.
July 12, 201510 yr Hypothetically speaking, Sox continue to creep closer to contention....Am I the only one who would look to package EJ and Putnam for a bat?
