Nate Jones in Chicago throwing for a small group of White Sox.

go get em Nate

I hope he can regain his old form... before the injury, and strictly based on statistics and WAR, he was one of the top-10 relievers in all of baseball, closers included.

Please god let Nate come back healthy.

Great news! Sure hope he can get back to his old self. :gosox3:

''Nate looked great,'' Ventura said. ''Velocity-wise, he could probably go pitch now.''

Nate Jones just isn't a very good baseball player

There are things that are not very good here, but it isn't Nate Jones...

Hitting 100 in a sim game. Good for him.

I saw him running into the dugout from the bullpen on Sunday. He looks bigger to me now. The key with him is control. Good to see he can still dial it up.

Jones on his way to Winston Salem starting today for a rehab assignment. Reportedly 96-98 in last simulated game.

While on subject, Crain pitched in 5 games in the Arizona Rookie League (counted as simulated games).

I hope he recovers, that has to be so tough to nearly finish rehabbing one injury only to suffer from another long-term one.

He could add a lot to the pen going forward if he can stay healthy

Great news. Can't wait to get him back. I assume they are shooting for the end of July if everything goes well?

Getting Jones back by August for the 8th inning would be huge for that pen

Anything this year is a bonus. Just let him get his head straight that he is healthy. Put him on an inning every third or fourth day which is a lot easier in minors.

The picture worries me a bit. His hand is to full elevation before his foot hits the ground. This means the arm will start to accelerate without lower body support. The beginning of the acceleration is all arm. Not usually a good way to protect the arm. I wonder if the back issue is keeping him from complete rotation? It doesn't look like that from the picture though.

Perhaps this photo captures the beginning of the extended 'pose' he has previously featured. His foot may land yet before he begins his acceleration process.

4 at 100 ? Did he throw that hard before his injury ?

yes.

Hypothetically speaking, Sox continue to creep closer to contention....Am I the only one who would look to package EJ and Putnam for a bat?
