Not if it's a simple Parra to Rockies, Cargo to Cardinals. That would actually be bad for the Sox, as Parra is more likely a possibility for Nats/Angels

Still takes the Cardinals out of the running at least

Which means the Orioles, Nats, Angels, Cards, Rangers, Brewers, Cubs....could all still be in on Jackson or Fowler.

That still leaves Davis, Cespedes, and Upton looking for teams with another team out of the running. The biggest lookers are the Sox and Orioles. Everyone else is on the periphery at this point.

Also fowler and lesser extent of jackson. Nats are looking for cf. Fowler could be possible unless the do end up trading gio. Texas was looking at ozuna.

People also forgetting that Jay Bruce is out there for trade as well. I would be shocked if he's still on the Reds by spring training. There were reports earlier in the off season that Baltimore was interested I believe.

I can still see Boston going for an OF. They have Betts, Bradley and Castillo but then it drops to Craig. They won't want Cespedes and they probably would love to unload a dead contract, but Upton may be on their wish list.

They signed Chris Young earlier this off season.

The three year thing is still really frustrating (since we now know it is not posturing), as is (to me) our interest in Gonzalez.

How do you know this?

Did Hahn say this and I just missed it?

He most likely didn't. I don't know, I'm just curious as to how he knows for sure that they're not posturing. It doesn't make any sense at this point to know that they were "fibbing" the whole time.

I mean if they dont like giving up more than 3 years. They are going to really hate having to give up more prospects(who knows maybe Anderson) for one in the middle of the season because Garcia cant catch. You find his replacement now or later. It's just going to cost more later.

@Alden_Gonzalez Angels still looking for LF and believe they'll get one. But at this point, they either trade for one, or he makes less than $5M in 2016.

Sounds like they're out on Cespedes too.

Makes me think the Sox are sitting pretty well.

RH, Just do it!!

This might be another case of the typical big spending field clearing nicely like with Abreu but still a long way to go.

If Detroit is our biggest competition for Cespedes, I like our chances of beating them.

Realistically, what teams are still in the market for Cespedes? I think the Giants and Angels are out now, so that leaves us with the:

White Sox

Orioles

Nationals

Cardinals

Tigers

Are there any other teams I missed? I like our chances.

Possibly NY if they deal Gardner or Ellsbury...

Rangers but only on a shorter-term deal.

Orioles waiting on Chris Davis. Nationals I think is more focusing on getting a CF. Cardinals best fit is the trade route, imo. Tigers are a scary team because YC has a past with them and the owner is willing to throw money all over the place.

Ilitch hasn't shown a willingness to go above the luxury tax though. Can't rule them out, but I wouldn't them a serious threat at this point.

My source says that when I win the power ball tomorrow night I'll pay for Cespedes.
