April 16, 20169 yr I've just been popping in and out of watching games this year, but it's a lot more fun to watch this year.
April 16, 20169 yr @CSNHayes Chris Sale had roughly 100 friends/family here. He's now 2-2 w/ a 1.44 ERA at Tropicana Field. Grew up in Lakeland, Fla., 45 miles away.
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 08:43 PM) 6 over would put them at 84-78. The last wild card in the AL last year was 86-76. Yep, just do two over or better. 90 is the goal now.
April 16, 20169 yr Absolutely love the winning, absolutely love the pitching but man the offense has got to start showing up. Can't expect the pitchers to keep going all year like this, they have to have some room for error. Mark
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 10:07 PM) Absolutely love the winning, absolutely love the pitching but man the offense has got to start showing up. Can't expect the pitchers to keep going all year like this, they have to have some room for error. Mark The Sox hit a lot of balls hard early in this game and had some tough luck. The Rays could have easily lost by a few more runs. Odorizzi settled in a bit, but he was very fortunate that there wasn't a worse outcome. I feel as if the offense DID show up today, just didn't get any bounces until the 9th inning. If the team as a whole can keep hitting balls hard as they did today, you will soon be singing a different tune about the offense.
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 08:41 PM) Chris wants that CY. He can taste it. He'll have to outpitch Matt Albers.
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (GreenSox @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 11:17 PM) Austin Jackson improved 2 positions defensively. Eaton's a pretty nifty RF. I was thinking the same thing tonight on several occasions.
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 11:30 PM) He'll have to outpitch Matt Albers. And outrun him. I smell a 100 yard dash challenge.
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 11:30 PM) I was thinking the same thing tonight on several occasions. Yeah, Eaton gets to a TON of balls that Avi never had a chance to get to. I feel very confident about any ball hit to CF, RFC, or RF. AJax and Eaton cover some ground. Edited April 16, 20169 yr by Chilihead90
April 16, 20169 yr Sadly, the 5-game W streak should end tomorrow because danks Edited April 16, 20169 yr by Jose Abreu
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 11:59 PM) Sadly, the 4-game W streak should end tomorrow because danks Positive Vibes! Maybe the bats will wake up and outscore the Rays!
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 10:59 PM) Sadly, the 4-game W streak should end tomorrow because danks 5 game win streak
April 16, 20169 yr Jeez. People forget so easily how often Danks pitched decent enough to give us a chance to win last year.
April 16, 20169 yr It's a beautiful thing when most of page 1 is filled with " And that's a White Sox winner."
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 12:07 AM) 5 game win streak yes, my mistake
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 11:14 PM) yes, my mistake All good man! Fun making mistakes over winning streak numbers. Here's to many more.
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (kev211 @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 06:08 AM) Jeez. People forget so easily how often Danks pitched decent enough to give us a chance to win last year. I love Danks. I may be his biggest fan.
April 16, 20169 yr The Sox are 21ST in the Majors, in runs scored, averaging just 3.5 runs per game. Their OBP is under .300, at just .288. It's amazing that they are 8 and 2. This pitching is just terrific. I hope that Ventura starts hitting Melky behind Abreu and in front of Frazier, vs RHP. That seems like their best option, until they can acquire that middle of the order left handed bat, which I'm always advocating. Cabrera doesn't have the power, but he's a good run producer, and he seems to be on one of his streaks.
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 03:02 AM) I love Danks. I may be his biggest fan. I'm shocked.
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (South Sider @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 11:20 PM) The Sox hit a lot of balls hard early in this game and had some tough luck. The Rays announcers said in postgame the same thing about the Rays. They felt they hit Sale better late in the game---great catch by Eaton, ball Melky caught on warning track and the rocket right to Rollins. These things even out. Sale walked no one and only allowed a couple of hits. Sox caught a break with the collision which ultimately cost the Rays the game. White Sox, i.e. Rollins, took advantage of it and Sale probably could have gone 10 or 11 and not allowed a run. Now if Danks can get 4 -5 runs we can keep the streak going.
April 16, 20169 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 01:02 AM) I love Danks. I may be his biggest fan. LMAO why? He sucks.
