Just the fact that the Sox have to bat their DH 9th shows you how little depth they have.

 

Why isn't Coats in RF with AVi DH? I hope it's because they are trying to showcase Avi as someone who can play OF for a trade.

The other idea could very well be the old Frank Thomas idea that he hits better when he plays the field, and they are trying to get Garcia's bat going again.

 

If that's the case, DH Melky and have Coats in RF and Avi in LF. Coats should atleast be playing defense in this situation.

I just fail to understand why Avi keeps playing the field instead of Coats. Wtf? Besides that at least something different is being tried with the lineup.

Edit: or 3-5 of Melky Abreu Frazier. Get a good contact hitting up in 3 spot, break up the righties a bit, and the all or nothing guy at the end of the middle of the lineup.

I know he's in. I was just taking a stab at a lineup with the current roster (Shuck against a righty, Coats against a lefty). Didn't know the guy on the mound is a lefty though. Thanks.
