  1. You may listen here. Keith had a ton of positive things to say about the White Sox, which includes some interesting takes on Stiever, Madrigal and others.

  5. For a period of time? Ha. My god, this whole financial system is a mess and the little guy, the average citizen has no effing clue. None at all. Airlines are an easy example to explain ..... They cut planes, run at optimization -- fine, good, that's how business is done. They cram you in, give you shit service, charge you to bring a bag, to move your seat up, to board early, to sneeze. Oil drops, they keep prices the same. THe consumer pays and pays and pays and they make bank. They free cash flow out the ears. Then they take that money and buy back stock. They don't save it for a rainy day, they buy back stock because the C-Suite people have stock incentives in their plans. They don't have customer happiness plans.. they don't have employee hapiness plans. They don't give their employees more money. They don't up their 401-k match ... nope they buy stock. Hell, Boeing issued debt to buy back stock. All to prop up prices and so they could get fat bonuses and buy their 5th house and another fancy car. Then shit hits the fan -- and look, no rainy day fund. But what will we do without airline companiesss??@!!?. Fuck them. fuck all of these companies. let them learn their lesson. let Bezos buy an airline for all i care. Companies need to learn their lesson. But nope, we'll bail them out... the taxpayers do it again. They'll spin this as too big to fail and that they'll pay back with interest. It's all horseshit. The Fed is a joke that just prints money devaluing hard earned savings. These companies are like cracked out addicts. The Fed is the enabling parent. Instead of saying no, enough is enough, no bailout, no money. We give it to them. And they go out and use/buy. It took 12 year for a repeat. There's no consequences to leveraging up a balance sheet to the gills. Worst case scenario they bankrupt the compayn, chapter 11 and repeat again. or get a bailout. We've learned nothing from 2008, just heads in the sand as citizens. This county is full of sheeple. Just follow whatever clown in congress or in power and act like they're smarter and know what they're doing. They dont. and wont. Ever. All events like this do is create bigger wealth divides. we're doing what we did in 2008 on a larger scale. how sick is it that we are 4 weeks from an all time high stock market (fake numbers -- terrible P/E ratios) but nonetheless 4 weeks from the top to the largest bailout in history? It's a sham, always has been.

  6. What's the point of a bailout then?

  7. This isn't even close to being true. For most companies they have private connectivity between their locations and datacenters/cloud providers. Its typically dedicated and not using a shared medium like the internet. The service providers peering links and inter-connects are under massive stress right now. Most companies build out for about 35% max utilization for remote services. Now you have taken their entire population and have popped them off at home. So besides the obvious remote access connection bandwidth, you have remote meetings, people are going to binge more Netflix/hulu/etc, and of course game. I have been pretty busy building out capacity over the last week to keep up with demand. The internet is built around a best-effort model. Its not built like your enterprise wan at your company. Nanog has been talking about this since we have seen the network traffic invert.

  9. I'm using prescription/OTC drugs to determine whether or not I'm having symptoms. Can I breathe after I take xanax? If I take allergy meds, does my stuffy nose and headache go away? If the answer is yes, proceed as usual If the answer is no, call my doctor. That's how I'm handling it. The other thing is that I'm prone to getting dehydrated as during times of stress and anxiety I forget to drink fluids. so that leads to dry mouth/sore throat and headaches as well. I'm trying to watch myself on that.

  10. I would say there's less than zero percent chance they let this get to a labor impasse at this point. The owners are going to be desperate to play.

  11. is it crazy of me to think that this is a good opportunity to start negotiating for the CBA? Two seasons off would do a lot of damage to the sport imo

  12. Not sure that is true. If a player is on the DL for a full season, he still gets service time. I think there needs to be a special determination by MLB how this season will be designated in regards to service time. http://m.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/service-time Players receive Major League service time for each day spent on the 26-man roster (it was 25, prior to 2020) or the Major League injured list. Important to players and clubs alike, service time is used to determine when players are eligible for arbitration as well as free agency.

  15. Yeah, I can't imagine there not being some sort of a season. Way too much for teams to lose. If the eight week recommendation by the CDC results in "flattening the curve" of the virus, I could see spring training activities resuming by late May and regular season games starting by mid-June. Even if games don't start until July or August, they can still manage to put together a 60-80 game season.

  16. Why cut it off so early? So if this all blows over by August 1st, why do you think they can't play from there? Even if you have a 50-70 game season, how is that not better than no baseball at all?

  17. I have severe anxiety and not being sure if you're having a panic attack or trouble breathing is serious at this time.

  21. blow it out your ass. The Dems focused all of their energy on the impeachment farse for ALL of January and first week of Feb while the country could've been focused on this Chinese contravirus. Instead they called him racist for his Jan 31 ban on China and possibly avoiding a Europe-like meltdown. Thankfully JB is manning up as a gov and taking initiative instead of spending his entire time blaming Trump. Believe it or not but Trump is not a dictator... It's the states role to lead the charge over it's population. Why didn't any states act when Trump closed travel from China? ...oh right, hindsight is 20/20 Time for all of us to start living in the now that's grounded in reality instead of blaming others.
