  1. The other stuff is likely off the field crap but this is symptomatic of many of the White Sox hitters and again, to me, points back at the hitting coach.
  2. I don't think this is the case. But I think Menechino's approach is awful with the new baseball that's being used. With the juiced ball, it was fine. But all you have to do is look at the Groundball rates to see the problems. Home runs are down but I do think the approach Menechino has employed is particularly bad.
  3. To be honest, firing Menechino would improve this team so much and actually make TLR a lot more bearable. A lot of the stuff we get on TLR on is a symptom of not being able to hit home runs. We start hitting the ball out of the park and the TLR stuff becomes moot. At least my two cents. I don't know what the fuck is keeping Menechino.
  4. A good 10 game stretch likely wins the division for them. I know the Twins got better but they still don't stack up on paper to what the Sox have. Both Lynn and Gio looked really good in their starts.
  5. I think Hawk is the worst. But this is slowly beginning to blow up in Hahn's face. On a side note, Kenny was, and still is, by far the best GM the organization has ever had. He was unafraid to be both creative and also bold. I always go back to the deadline deal he made in 2004 for Contreras which upgraded their rotation at the time, he finished 2004 better than Loaiza, and was absolutely key in 2005 when they won the World Series. I think KW would have been able to have gotten a deal done at the deadline this year by being creative, even if it meant trading someone on the Major League roster. He is also someone who was able to look at failures from past seasons and address them in the off season, thinking of 2004 and 2007 specifically.
  6. Maybe I'm just reading into some of Hahn's statements but it seems like if the lack of power continues, Menechino could be gone really soon.
  7. Who knows what Crochet will turn into, especially given Tommy John Surgery. I would be ok with that. DO we think hitting at US cellular could give Happ bigger power numbers than he already has?
  8. He actually got vaccinated before the Orioles latest trip to Toronto.
  9. Wonder what a package of Rodon and Joctober would look like?
  10. That's insane. I don't think it'll cost that. I think likely a mid tier prospect. He's a rental.
  11. I like Beinintendi but his vax status freaked me out as well as the fact that he doesn't hit for that much power. The Sox need a big left handed thumper. If the Sox can't get Soto, and quite frankly given the price tag I don't think Soto is being dealt, Bryan Reynolds would be the ideal fit.
  12. If the Nats are serious about any deal for Soto having to include Corbin, Soto won't be traded. No team is going to take on that horrible contract.
  13. If the Giants fall out of it this week, how much do we think Rodon and Pederson would cost? I think they are less costly simply because they are rentals. Outisde of Reynolds and Soto, I think Pederson is the best option for the Sox. And having Rodon back would be amazing. Again, don't know how realistic this is. I guess it depends on what the Giants do this week.
  14. To be honest, a package for Reynolds and Quintana would be pretty damn good. They need a left handed reliever as well but likely find one somewhere. I think 2nd base is less of a hole than people think. They just need to play Harrison consistently.
  15. I saw an interview with Lynn that partially explains what is going on. It was during his rehab start and they asked him how he felt and he said that he was still adjusting to the surgery and the surgery had done to his knee. I think the surgery he had likely requires some sort of big mechanical adjustment on his part. I have faith in him that he'll find it. I don't think Keuchel and Lynn are comparable at all.
  16. But a lot of it has to do with the beef. Specifically Vienna beef, which is far superior. I live in New York. Nathan's hot dogs are shit. They are so bad that at Mets games, I make a point of standing in the ShakeShack line just for hot dogs because they carry Vienna Beef.
  17. He's also coming off a career year and one of the better years for a catcher in recent memory.
  18. I'd go all in for Soto. Personally, I would love to see the Sox get Reynolds and Quintana from Pittsburgh. They also need a left handed reliever.
  19. Menechino and Lynn. To be quite honest, Menechino's firing is more important for me right now than getting rid of Tony. The offense hits and a lot of this stuff about Tony becomes more irrelevant.
  20. Makes sense. Hopeful for another hot mic moment.
