  1. To be fair, I had a positive post the other day. I'm too lazy to look it up. Oh yeah I was wondering if Shoemake might be a surprise in a positive way.
  2. It was funny listening to the Royals postgame in my car. The fans were all excited about being 5-4. No mention, none, of how bad the White Sox are. You know, the Sox have turned the seasons of Central Division teams around a lot during the past many years of suck. Sox get KC well ... again. That said ... it's interesting how this pathetic lineup is hitting about what we all expected. Typical Sox. No surprises. Everybody's hitting poorly just as we thought. I know I know. Robert and Eloy are out.
  3. I'd actually be OK with them removing the White Sox from the league for 2 seasons and make them an expansion team with new ownership. This organization has what, Montgomery, and Crochet and nothing else? Can't count Robert anymore. He's just another guy who can't be healthy.
  4. Not a bad idea. AJP would be good and in your scenario he gets to learn how to manage half a season. Also we make Tony watch this bad ballclub in action. It's almost torture to submit anybody to watch this team play baseball. Tony would be in baseball hell making out the lineup card for this monumentally awful club.
  5. It's like the Sox are trolling the fans daring them to buy tickets to come see wretched old guys play. It's a fireable offense (Getz) just putting together a team with the 7, 8, 9 hitters we have.
  6. Seriously. Am I the only one who thinks this is a team that should be fined for not being MLB caliber? Anybody agree with greg that this is not a big league club? That our Sox would not even contend for a minor league title? Especially with no Eloy and Robert.
  7. How can this keep happening? One week into the season and Eloy and Robert are both hurt. Can you imagine being a player or coach on this team? How can you even pretend you have a chance to win when you take the field? p.s. Can you believe how bad a hitter Beni is?
  8. My experiment of trying to follow the Cubs is working. Suzuki is a good hitter. That guy with the wild name homered today. Hell, might as well follow the Cubs as we have just one MLB team in town right now. Nobody can tell me this White Sox team is big-league caliber. Like I said the commissioner should fine the White Sox heavily for putting this product out there. It's almost impossible to create a team this flawed.
  9. Just saw that Robert got hurt. You can't make this stuff up. Everything we fans thought would happen (no offense injuries) has happened in the first week. This is insane.
  10. Oh boy, four hits. Sox offense is as bad as we all knew it would be. This team will be lucky to win 15-20 games on the road this season.
  11. I don't care that's for sure. But Eloy does need a personal trainer or two. He has to take a different approach to playing sports, stretching, etc. Or just tell him to jog at all times.
  12. Eloy's body type is not conducive to playing baseball apparently. He can't hustle like other body types without tearing or straining something. He's got to be one of the most injured players in baseball history (not hyperbole).
  13. I was wrong on Burger and admitted it. I didn't want to draft him but he became a favorite. Very sad when they shipped him out for no good reason. He coulda been DH for 12 years. Not a fluid fielder.
  14. Sox road record is gonna be soooo bad. And the team isn't built for the Cell so yikes on the record. ... Our bullpen? Cmon, the Brother Rice Crusaders would salivate getting to bat against these dudes.
  15. Don't give up on Shewmake and Lee til their stats say it's time to bury 'em. Thank u. And is it possible Sheets can hit a bit? He's always been kind of easy to root for.
  16. I heard Nicky was kinda difficult to be around as a Royal. No proof that's true or not, but if they were talking bleep on him, mabe they don't like him.
  17. Oops Shewmake down to .230. The good news is Sheets is hitting for average and Lee has a good BA. ... As expected one part of our team will fall apart minimum most every night. Today bullpen again LOL status. My gawd, our team stinks. Eight runs in the seventh LOL. Can't believe I have no interest in our W/L record. Thanks White Sox for ruining my sporting life.
  18. Amen. There has to be some sort of plan. I still think many of our fans like tank mode for some odd reason. I guess the names we acquire and drop into rookie ball or A ball are the grand, mysterious players who some day will turn our team into a winner in the short window they have before free agency. That didn't work so well last time. I wish we had a new owner and GM who knew what the frick they were doing besides saving money during tank jobs.
  19. That's what I was thinking about Cease. Sox would have 2 good starters which is a start. Now we just got one and we suck. The Cease trade was a joke. Didn't the Sox get one decent outfield prospect in that one?
  20. This is a depressing thread realizing the Sox can't sign anybody who is any good, apparently cause there is no money or JR won't ever spend money. If you get rid of all your moderately good players, our team will be in tank/rebuild mode forever. At some point the Sox need to return to the days they had obvious big leaguers on the team. Frankly if the Sox can't realistically build a winner cause of $$ I wish they'd fricking sell the team or move the team.
  21. That post pretty much says it all. Those are the guys responsible for the win. And the bloop by the easy-to-like, but not very good Vaughn.
  22. Well tip of the cap to Crochet. And Kopech for the final result. I think it's safe to say this is our formula to win. Have the big leaguers on the team lead us to victory. Crochet and Kopech belong in the bigs. And Bong is prolly good enough to be a big league reserve at least. We rode some of our few big leaguers to victory. ... And Moncada who is a big leaguer of some sort didn't boot the big grounder, turning the DP. I hate the Sox these days but do not want them to lose ever. Nice win over a good team.
  23. I've always liked Andrew Vaughn but he always 'seems' so pained and stressed in actual games. Do him a favor Sox and dump him. He needs a change of scenery. Some minor trade to get rid of him and do him a solid. Maybe he can hit in his next franchise. Poor AV. He seems likeable. Can't hit as a Sox.
  24. I think the front office is realizing just how bad this team is and needs an arm to throw out there. This on paper is one of the worst teams in MLB modern history.
  25. Totally expected. The last five hitters today couldn't get a hit off Brother Rice's No. 1 starter. Ah, that's hyperbolic and untrue I guess. I just wanted to write Brother Rice in a sentence. In that clip it looked like under 100 people remained in the stands in the eighth inning. p.s. I was thinking about this. I know all about the secondary market and cheap tickets but in terms of basic economic theory, can you imagine a Sox fan paying 45 bucks for a lower level seat and paying 20 for parking and then buying a good amount of concessions? Economic theory tells me that's one of the worst deal for the consumers ever, if indeed they want the Sox to win and are not a fan of the opponent. FOR THE MONEY a Sox game has to be one of the worst deals of the upcoming spring/summer. Even if you love the corned beef, pizza, shakes, whatever, it's grossly overpriced for the amount of consumer enjoyment. I know minor league games are costing way too much but I'd think a minor league game in the Chicago area would be a better deal.
