  2. That just shows how pathetic the AL Central is and has been as the little Det and KC runs were the only AL Central success in the last 30+ years as the late 90s Indians never won anything. What a shitty division.
  3. I see what you did there(?).
  4. Hope it goes 6 or 7. Either is a great story, but hard not to go Brewers if you were raised in the Midwest. Plus, they continue to infuriate Cubs' fans with their #19 payroll.
  5. No, at best, it would have been 4-1 or 4-2 Rays...Peralta's high fastballs would have killed them and Rasmussen is an underappreciated staff ace. Booser suddenly a world beater, too. White Sox have their Big 3, but not quite the star power of Caminero. And Chandler Simpson really impresses you watching him more and more. Kind of a throwback to the 80s player.
  6. Would Peralta also saved our offense from striking out 3,746 times? There’s no defending the Castillo move. It was/is flat out bad. But let’s also be realistic, 1 player wasn’t making this team a legit WS contender.
  7. I honestly don't care who wins the World Series. I like both teams, and I really like that there are teams not called the Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, etc. playing. I just REALLY didn't want to see Cleveland there. I hate to be this way, but I loved seeing the glum faces as Tampa handed the Guardians their ass.
  8. He blocks you because of this immature bs. It’s probably nice to just not have to read that, it’s too bad quote tweets show you flailing around for attention
  9. No. There were more issues than having one more pitcher. Could they have beaten Cleveland? Probably. But going into the ALCS with two starting pitchers vs. one wouldn't have been enough.
  10. No, Cub fans are content with mediocrity. Sox fans want more.

  12. https://www.amazinavenue.com/new-york-mets-analysis/98808/mets-freddy-peralta-trade-return-prospects-new-york The Mets finally found a package they liked for Freddy Peralta, moving him to Tampa Bay for three prospects most fans have likely never heard of. Indeed, none of these prospects ranked in the Rays’ top-10 per MLB pipeline. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/who-will-be-the-next-mlb-gm-baseball-execs-discuss-the-top-candidates-for-front-office-jobs-around-the-league-183716356.html Sox/former Rays' Asst GM Carlos Rodriguez finishes in Top 5 vote getters for future GMs, plus two votes for Barfield two Guardians execs in Top 5 one vote for Rick Hahn lol Jon Daniels, Senior Advisor, TB* 8 Brandon Gomes, General Manager, LAD 5 Mike Chernoff, General Manager, CLE* 4 Ben Sestanovich, Assistant General Manager, ATL 4 Matt Forman, Assistant General Manager, CLE* 4 James Click, VP, Strategy, TOR 4 Carlos Rodriguez, Assistant General Manager, CWS* 4 Thad Levine, Special Advisor, MIL* 3 Carter Hawkins, General Manager, CHC 3 Justin Hollander, General Manager, SEA 3 Michael Groopman, Assistant General Manager, BOS 2 Derek Falvey, former President of Baseball Ops, MIN 2 Josh Barfield, Assistant General Manager, CWS* 2 Randy Flores, Assistant General Manager, STL 2 Amiel Sawdaye, Assistant General Manager, AZ 2 Justin Horowitz, Assistant General Manager, WSH
  13. https://www.mlb.com/news/what-went-wrong-during-freddy-peralta-s-mets-tenure Mets' much maligned (see Alonso comments) analytics group advised Peralta to throw more curveballs and sweepers, fewer change-ups Rays also changed his arm angle a bit as well https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/freddy-peraltas-tampa-bay-turnaround-200003419.html "Meanwhile, Mets officials relayed to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo that many of the mechanical tweaks the Rays suggested were ideas they had to maximize Peralta's effectiveness. David Stearns also discussed Peralta in his end-of-season press conference, suggesting he had to do a further examination of why the Mets couldn't effectively communicate the desired tweaks to Peralta as the Rays did." So how did he get here? Peralta raised his arm angle to around 36 degrees with the Rays, as opposed to 33 degrees when he was with the Mets earlier in the season. He has also gotten his extension back to about 6.7 feet, while it was just 6.5 feet with the Mets. Last season, Peralta's arm angle was 38.4 degrees and his extension was 6.8 feet pitching for the Milwaukee Brewers. He went 17-6 with a 2.70 ERA with the Brewers in 2025. These adjustments have seen Peralta's velocity rise by 2-3 mph on all of his pitches. "Fastball was exceptional and did not look like the Sox had much chance against the velocity," the scout said of Peralta. "(I) felt like he leaned heavily on the changeup over his sweeper. The biggest adjustment down in Tampa Bay in my opinion (for Peralta) is leaning on the changeup."
  14. This should be a damn good World Series with 2 excellent teams, go Rays.
  15. Wonder which pitcher was second lol?
  16. Meanwhile, BP's Jarrett Seidler is ranking all 30 front offices, and placed the White Sox 19th, but what he considered a surprising showing was based on the strength of their pro acquisition. When it comes to drafting and developing, they're in better shape than they used to be, but still not generating stars.

  18. https://www.mlb.com/news/brewers-vs-rays-world-series-preview It's the third straight year and fourth in the past five that the Guardians failed to get past the ALCS. They've had seven tries in the postseason to reach the World Series since their last appearance in 2016. They've fallen short each time.
  19. "He (Freddy Peralta) said, 'I always feel comfortable pitching out of the stretch,'" Moncada said of Peralta. "So we were like, 'Go with what makes you most comfortable,' and he went back." This simple change for Peralta has clearly helped, as he's turned the corner for the Rays since making this change. But that's not all that the Rays did to fix Peralta. "From there, the Rays instituted further modifications," Castillo writes. "They had Peralta move to the third base side of the rubber and widen his stance. They told him to speed up his delivery. They gave him a drill package to incorporate into his preparation to generate more strength from his legs (which led to an additional 2.4 inches of extension and an increase of 2-3 mph with his velo)." All of those changes, from the adjustments on the mound to his changes when he's off of it, have culminated in quite the mid-season turnaround from Peralta. yahoo.com/sports
  20. LMFAO. Are you a Cub fan ?
  21. Their World Series title drought stretches to 79 years. Amazingly, they're now only 9 years away from matching the White Sox 88-year drought between 1917 and 2005. The Brewers and Padres (1969 expansion franchises, never won the WS) have the next longest droughts...and of course, the Brewers could end their wait by the end of this month.
