I can’t tell if you’re just not reading anyone’s response or what. He HAS progressed. The pace isn’t even weird. He was drafted in 2021 as a two way player, who converted to pitching full time in 2022. He then “progressed” all the way to the majors in 2024, and pitched really well, before going down to TJ. So he missed all of 2025 and started pitching again this year until he hurt his hamstring. So, college draftee. Wasted one year hitting, took two years to get to the majors, succeeded, and then lost a year and half to Tommy John. That’s why he’s 27.

That's about what we received for Cease. H. Smith has twice the ceiling of Thorpe and Cease is better than Detmers, but 2 extra months of Detmers and it is July. I'd rather do that for Urena, but I guess that's unrealistic.

Superfluous in LA right now. The Dodgers got Lauer for basically nothing in May after he was designated for assignment after 36 1/3 terrible innings for the Toronto Blue Jays, where he was openly disgruntled about his role. Lauer has now appeared in nine games for the Dodgers, with eight starts. The Dodgers have won all nine of those games. He has been a great find for the team while some of the above pitchers have hit the IL. Odds are decent L.A. trades him away within the next two days.

So with Getz apparently seeking another starter; with H. Smith pitching short stints apparently to bring into the pen, is the idea to also move some incumbent relievers out? Are they going to do some buying and selling with the staff? Richards? Murphy (but he's the lefty with velocity; he's been really good once fixing his control).
