  1. Past hour
  2. We don't know that the return would have been the same i guess though
  3. There is one easy way to do that. Cut him.
  4. The NFL is a national contract, with provisions that games be broadcast into local markets assuming they are sold out at the home stadium. The thing where each team has a local deal is very much an MLB thing.
  5. This is one of my bucket list things to do. Going to move it on the soon list once this team is worth paying to see again.
  6. I absolutely loved it when I went. Went to some other stadiums too which aren't all too far. The game is a mere distraction but its awesome just walking around or sitting in the outfield grass.
  7. Don’t hate this move in the slightest. Would’ve hated it if Leasure was in the deal. stuff wise there is a good pitcher somewhere in there. He was +110 last year. Being in a spot where he can focus on process over results will help him. The Boston situation was toxic with the Devers connection. Not that they don’t have a great pitching program, he’s just relearning process since converting to being a reliever. The Sox can also decide to use an opener for him. Taylor does very well against lefties so that could be a good combination. It’s a way to let Taylor get a controlled ramp up in innings and allow Hicks to get better matchups and boost his confidence.

  9. https://allchgo.com/join/ They are planning an event to go to ST with a Bulls game in Phoenix as part of the package.. Might be better to with a group with an itinerary and like minded Sox fans. If you have never watched the CHGO podcasts they are a part of All City Network and sports in multiple cities . In Chicago they cover, the all major teams and have podcasts of each one. The Bears get tons of coverage the Sox not much.Future Sox guys like Soxtalks James Fox and others from the Futute Sox podcasts have been on the CHGO Sox podcasts. You would probably need to become a Diehard Member of the Network to get a discount on the trip. Sometimes they have specials on becoming a Diehard Member . The All City Network relies on Memberships and Chat donations to support all the things they do . When the Bears went to England they had group outing for that. They have events in local establishments so being a Diehard Members works better for people in the Chicagoland area. But I dont think that means you would be excluded from event trips. It just might change the cost. I cant really tell you how it works because being in Ca. I've not given much thought to becoming a Diehard Member so thats why I gave you the link. So if that sounds interesting you have a month to figure it out. Maybe look up CHGO White Sox podcasts on youtube and watch some recent ones . I think they advertise the ST trip on the Sox podcast .I subdcribr to most Sox and FutureSox podcasts. It helps keep me informed and most are forward looking and not hyper critical .Good luck. Edit : Unsure if your dates coincide with the CHGO trip .
  10. How are they not going to trade Coby White? It's just baffling.
  11. If you have never been to Spring Training, I would suggest going it's a good time. The one thing that was really expensive was renting a car so unless they have lowered the prices be prepared to get hit with all sorts of fees. Camelback Park is also a must see, you can roam around the complex before the game. I would suggest that you go to a Sox game at other parks, there are some beautiful parks that are worth seeing.
  12. The deal isn't quite finished yet. The Sox did get an upgrade from a guy who was already proving hum-drum in the lower levels to a guy with actual stuff. The PTBNLs probably aren't going to be "these two future garbagemen for this one future Kroger bagger". One of the FutureSox guys intimated that the guy we're sending was an org depth guy who had a foot out the door. The guys we're getting back may require roster juggling, so they'll wait til ST to play with the rosters. Some have even suggested the PTBNL track is a way to fully obtain Paez so we get access to his options this season.
  13. Leaving games for fans to watch on limited choice packages like ESPN+, Apple, Amazon. Seems like collusion to me. Take away viewing even local networks? I do pay annually for MLB but just like any of these subs the prices always go up. I think it's dangerous ground and the NFL may be heading in that direction. I may be speaking on ignorance with this.
  14. I lean into "They must believe in Sandlin (and Hicks)". There's extra PTBNLs, which the FutureSox podcast said could be 40-man guys they'll wait a week to have 60-day IL space. I think the trade's fine, in principle. Take on money to get guys you want. Hicks' ceiling is exciting. So is Sandlin. Maybe that's all you get in these kinds of trades. Take on money and exchange a hittable "soft contact" guy for stuff. I also don't buy into the "Getz turned Austin Slater into Sandlin" spin. They turned Slater and taking on a lot of money into Sandlin. I'm glad Robert's traded. I've tired of the annual injury watch. Hays isn't much better on that front. He hits better, is a corner guy. I'm fine with a dude who has a floor in the majors to back up the experiments. I don't feel that the "I need to steel myself with Jesus to guard against the gayz!!" BS is maturity and leadership, so maybe he just shuts up, plays his 80 games and is real careful during his hug watch. I'm not a pro-scout, so I don't have in depth takes that go beyond what I read. Once a move is made, it's made. If I don't like it, I don't need to keep reminding everybody that Goofball69 really hates that bullpen pickup. Once a guy's on the team, I'm more interested in how he fits in and executes. You can have your argument over the meanings of words with somebody else.
  15. I guess Hicks was good in 2019 when he pitched 28 innings. He’s had a .9 BWAR in 2023 and 2024 (as a starter). His fWARs aren’t much better. And we’re stuck with him for 2 seasons including a cool 12.5 mill next season. Sox had plenty of iffy bullpen arms plus 2 Rule 5 guys to evaluate. So we did a prospect swap. But we got nothing for the salary dump. This was a far better deal for Boston (salary relief and 2 spots on 40-man!) than it was for the White Sox.
  16. So true. I could stand on my roof and see the Ranch but prices are ridiculous. Ticket prices are not universal. You could go to a game to see them play another team that is equally bad. Check out the prices for Dodger games. My luck I would spend $$$ hoping to see Ohtani but he would have a game off.
  17. I really believe the Sox want to keep Benintendi out of the outfield as much as possible this year.
  18. The games are great, flying out of the 20 degrees and snow into 70 and sunny. Starters only play 1/3 to half of the game, then it's all minor leaguers, which is very cool if you follow that. I had found that the games are expensive, now. Everybody else draws better than the Sox. You can watch out for morning games at team complexes. The paper used to give hints at that. Maybe call the team to see if there's a free minor league game in the morning? Players are more available for autographs, and stuff. I've never had the time to do the backfields stuff.
  19. While I don't agree with you on Hays, I agree on Sandlin/Hicks. It's just an odd trade. I'm probably higher on Hicks returning to form, but then you just got yourself another reliever... for market price too. They must believe in Sandlin, but a guy with a straight fastball who has shoddy command getting a big league shot usually doesn't bode well. Not agreeing with something isn't trashing it. You disagree with posters all the time, does that mean you're trashing them?
  20. JR likes cash considerations even more than David Eckstein.
  21. Today
  22. Just when the rumors rope me back in, they send me back out.
  23. tray

    Austin Hays

Maybe Hendrix "Purple Haze" as his walk up music ?
  24. Hopefully both pitchers were struggling coming back from little injuries and will rebound
