  1. Past hour
  2. I’d prefer Palette over either one of them (and over several others on the 40 man). Ramos has been slow to develop- I don’t know what the can do with Ramos at this point. Mead’s presence on this team still seems silly. Lee would seem to be perfectly acceptable as a backup catcher and it would be ideal if he is.… but maybe he isn’t. Quero has too much potential to only catch 2x per week.
  3. How? Its almost exactly the same distance and geographic layout where the stadium goes from central location in a city, to the edge of one significant side of the population base, but still close and accessible.
  4. New York and New Jersey are a little different than Illinois and Indiana. Those other examples aren't really the same.
  5. Indiana Bears would be a huge blow to this teams fandom, No doubt in my mind
  6. Why do you believe and parrot everything you read about stadiums? It’s the weirdest thing
  7. With as many teams as aren't located in their proper city's anymore, I do not think this is true. Sure as heck hasn't harmed the Jets, Cowboys, Giants, Commanders, Rams, Chargers, 49ers, Bills or Dolphins. Why are the Bears different. To be clear, I do not think it happens, though I think Indiana will be perfectly willing to throw a ton of money and resources at the Bears to make Chicago/Illinois bid up.
  8. The Bears are going to build a new stadium. They can't get it done in Illinois for whatever reason. If Indiana gives the Bears what they want they will move to Indiana.
  9. The Bears would be committing brand suicide by moving the team out of state.
  10. Indiana Governor Braun has said the negotiations with the Bears are going full speed ahead. He said they will do everything he can to bring the Bears stadium to Indiana.
  11. Today
  12. Honestly, this post basically says: The bad things you don't believe are actually bad, and the things that are OK are actually good. I'm not sure if it's because we're 3+ months removed from the season or what, but the scenarios being drawn up here are basically... everyone gets better, no one gets worse, and those who were not good surprise and are actually good. As of right now, the Sox have the 4th lowest projected WAR in baseball (NOT BY STEAMER, since STEAMER is not a way to project actual team WAR). This idea that they're some good-luck away from competing just doesn't add up to me. They might/should be more entertaining next year, but this is still one of the worst teams in MLB. Could they make some more adds and maybe get out of the bottom 5? I guess it's possible, but seems unlikely. Additionally, unlike some here I don't trust Getz to make any quality moves since his history is that of not making many quality moves. The only quality players he's acquired came from trading a top 3 pitcher in the game below his peak value (IMO), and someone he picked up in a Rule 5 draft. Almost every other move he has made has been a nothing burger and/or a failure.
  13. And by cooking, I mean at two 1 or 2 more free agent additions and 2 or 3 more trades when all is said and done.
  14. Gun to head, I think the Sox end up trading a catcher. Obviously Lee is most likely, but could see Quero get dealt as well. Theoretically you can carry four catchers on the 40 man roster and we have done so at times in the past, but Romo feels like he’s purposely being added to be the 3rd string / AAA guy who can be called up (and sent down) in event of injury. I really think Getz has some more things cooking.
  15. I always thought they’d go this route with Blake Sabol when they signed him (or claimed him on off waivers I forgot) last year and there was talk of trading Lee. If they go 3 catcher route (beginning to believe they won’t), it’d be nice to have one that can play a couple other spots even if it’s just 1B and LF.
  16. They did play Lee in LF last season, albeit only for a couple innings. I wonder if they think he can play there on a somewhat consistent basis. If so, maybe that’s a path for him to stick on the team.
  17. Yeah and I saw a Tweet that I think said they had 6 guys in camp last Spring. 4 are returning from last spring, now Romo. So maybe one more NRI coming as well.
  18. Has to be in spring training though because he’s out of options along with Sosa, Mead and Ramos
  19. The 78 Jerry is cheap Ishbia That would probably be enough to keep Tray busy raging for awhile.
  20. Fan Duel/Main Street is apparently about to go bankrupt.
  21. You already earned an "F" in an "Anti - Stalking" course. Class Dismissed, for now.
  22. Vinnie Pasquantino likes playing for Italy. Might be fun for him. People's heritage means a lot to them especially if they're close to a grandparent from the old country.
  23. The Cinderella Canes do it again. (10) Miami (FL) 31 (6) Ole Miss 27 Final Hit. Stick. Bust Dick. We FUCKIN Miami heads back to its home stadium for the National Championship. It would be a steep climb against Indiana but Oregon is a coin flip.
  24. Lee is a perfectly cromulent backup catcher. As an older fan I appreciate that he's around, and GMs do as well. Seasons are lost on a catcher injury and a -2 WAR "regular" suddenly playing every day. The smart play is to just hold onto Lee until someone inevitably goes down and trade him for a lotto ticket. You do that 20 times over a decade you hit on a couple.
  25. Exactly. Great point. We’d all rather have this guy than Lee and yet some people are expecting Lee to be worth something. Meanwhile, Romo could have been had for a waiver claim.
  26. 2 hour rain delay at the United Center. Jerry really needs his concessions.
