  1. Past hour

  2. I believe he was rated as high as #8 in the Sox system by MLB Pipeline. Looks like he is slotted at #19 in the Rockies system now.
  3. I can’t help but think that Chris Getz was onto something when he was acquiring as many catchers as possible, if only Quero started out better and Teel stayed healthy
  4. I’m far from a prospect expert, but I had him ranked 15th post draft.
  5. I like Singer. He’s been great lately. Apparently was trying to pitch through a blister at the beginning of the year
  6. Torrens (Catcher) from Mets would potentially be a wise trade.
  7. Honestly this entire deal was kind of a we don't think too much of these guys, maybe someone else will kind of deal. I think the Sox placed a premium on the IP aspect of Castillo, which with a staff held together with Duct Tape and TJS isn't a bad thing, but it really hinges on of Castillo is fixable, or in inevitable decine.
  8. For those wondering about whether Castillo's contract is an abomination that he'd never get on the open market, apparently the Reds would like to offer Brady Singer a 1-year $23Mish deal after the season.
  9. For the prospect aficionados, would Adams actually be considered a top ten prospect? Also I think we are taking for granted how, for the most part, we have stayed healthy this year. Trade could be safeguarding against cluster injuries if they were to occur.
  10. Still the single most important catcher skill (besides hitting of course). Challenges can help you right up until the ball gets outside the zone. Then you want your framer getting those pitches called strikes, knowing that hitters rarely get them overturned (and if they know you have a good framer, they're more likely to waste challenges). That being said, Stephenson is a top shelf challenger, so it certainly helps mitigate his issues. I wonder if he'd be amenable to the Sox "let it rip" strategy.
  11. Right - holy flipping moly.
  12. This is better news than I was fearing, but still a big loss, talking about missing the first 6 weeks of the regular season. Get better soon Coby!
  13. Feel like framing matters less though in the era of ABS. As far as Nightengale, he has been so full of crap this trade deadline.
  14. They've had their share of disappointments/underperformance/busts from their presumed core too. Holliday looking like a big leaguer but perhaps not yet even clearly better than the likes of Chase Meidroth. Gunnar has shown MVP talent but I know they're getting nervous over there about whether he has regressed. Coby Mayo not an everyday player anymore. Cowser a marginal player. Kjerstad complete bust. Westburg looked solid but always hurt. Grayson Rodriguez never got it together. Mountcastle just a guy. Adley is hard to complain about but an injury and a little bit of a slide on offense knocked him off the Hall of Fame highway. Of course, some of that should have been expected and that's why you try to keep piling on and patching holes, which their management was always afraid to do. Traded a couple guys for Trevor Rogers, that was about as far as they went. And Rogers has been a rollercoaster ride for them. Started throwing a little money around as the ship was sinking.
  15. That's fair. Just talking net dollars added to payroll. But yes, I too feel Dominguez is at least a solid middle reliever. Its obvious the Sox didn't think much of him after rostering him the last several months.
  16. I think Stephenson and Singer is a definite possibility. Would think maybe a Sandlin and Walkow (or Quero)
  17. I’ve flipped. If Carlson can be the headliner for Detmers, do it
  18. Yea Detmers to Cubs clearly fell through 🤣
  19. Seeing that price - quite frankly I'm fine with what the Sox did.
