  2. McDougal desperately needs innings so I'm not sure I understand the idea. Couldn't he just ramp up over the next 3 weeks and then take Fedde's rotation spot after the ASG?
  3. Take Emerson. When Mune leaves, we’ll have the same infield configuration we have now plus a budding Bryce Harper waiting in the wings.
  4. he will certainly be up with the big club by august. edit: already on the 40 man so yea.
  5. Today
  6. His slump ended the day after your post:)
  7. Pitching is going to improve from within. Drew thorpe, mason adams shane smith hagen and noahschultz tanner mcdougal. One bullpen guy who fascinates me is the frenchman, LaCombe. As Mr. Burns once said "Sure I'm rich, But I'd trade it all for just a little more"
  8. While the Sox floundered JR was buying as much property around the United Center as he could. Hold onto your property if you own anything in that area. It is only going up up up.
  9. I am going to turn the tables and ask, if you were the opposing GM, what White Sox would you want for... Sonny Gray Michael Wacha Clay Holmes (injured, may come back before the trade deadline, has a player option he probably won't take) Reid Detmers
  10. Trends June 15th the Sox reached their high water mark of 6 games over .500 so they've been treading water for 2 weeks. For the last month the Tigers and he Twins have got red hot with the bats and crept closer. The Guardians meanwhile have stopped hitting all together for the last month but the Sox can't shake them. Jacob Gonzalez last 5 games .421 .476 .684 1.160. Got himself to .2 bWAR after going 0 for 26. Braden Montgomery is at .4 bWAR while just staying consistently just OK with the bat so his defense must be looking pretty good. The last 28 days Sam Antonacci line. .313 .427 .488 .915
  11. Once the ball gets rolling on that kind of thing it gains momentum and even guys who think otherwise because of this little thing called making adjustments are afraid to be the lone wolf. You'll be remembered longer if you're wrong going against the grain than you will for being wrong as part of a group wrong. Plus better to limit the young foreigners earning power. Owners could be driving that narrative just like they are trying to limit the HS kids in the draft. It follows suit that if you do that , you're older when you reach Free Agency and thus less super long, super expensive contracts. They hate those and Mune was in line to get one then all of a sudden he wasn't and he'll be 2 years older when he's gets another chance.
  12. Generally speaking, billionaires aren’t exactly known for having the mindset of “You know what? I think I have enough money”
  13. The Sox just spent two years not trading Luis Robert and watching his value go to zero because they didn't want to pick up money, and needing to be convinced to pick up Mune. I also wouldn't be shocked if the ramping up of payroll quickly for the TLR era has some kind of traumatic effect on Jerry like we saw with his refusal to sign long term pitcher contracts after a flop or two. I will believe the horse has changed his stripes when I see it.
  14. Not to mention the new draft rules seem to have been directly aimed at them while they ignored all the advantages given to the Astros who actually knew how to rebuild because they lost a crapload of games while Hahn and Co. actually kept signing free agents and won too much and never got the top pick.
  15. Mike Schmidt didn't exactly come out blazing either as I recall from the back of his baseball card.
  16. It was either by Fallout Boy in the 2019 comedy-horror Banana Splits movie ( I think 5 Nights at Freddy's might have been inspired by that movie) or... the Dickies version in Kick Ass It's also been in Boss Baby. And the Original Show goes back to 1968 .
  17. I don't think he is planning on dying THIS year. They could be a year or two away anyway. He doesn't plan on turning the team over to Ishbia before 2029, so I suspect he assumes he will have more chances. Plus, I'm not really sure he cares if he wins or not. His priorities are not the same as ours.
  18. I met Don Kolloway while having a beer at McCuddy's I believe in 1977. He was a pleasure to talk to, a real gentleman.

  20. He's become this years Alexander Albertus. I hope he gets back soon.
  21. Great hearing from you, get your connection squared away and post more.
