Not many teams have predicted Skubal could land there, especially knowing that would keep Skubal in the American League Central for the rest of the season, at bare minimum. Hairston continued, "Obviously the Dodgers are going to be in on it... I think if the Dodgers do pull off this trade, I think it's going to be a multi-team trade. They have a site picked out just south of Raymond James Stadium, they need to be in Tampa, the Lightning sell out every game, the Bus draw very well. The Trop’s location in St.Pete is too far away from the population base in Tampa and is too long of a ride and hard to get to with lots of congestion on the bridges. The fans who live just east of the Bay itself like in Ruskin and Sun City Center have to travel way south and out of the way to get to the Skyway bridge, the only towns that have an easy trek are those who live in Sarasota and Bradenton and towns north like Clearwater and Dunedin.

Colson needs to stop swinging at so many balls out of the zone, particularly the high fast ball. I guess it’s easier said than done, but he needs to try. IMO.

Kremer put up 2.6 fWAR last year. He’s 30 years old and has made seven total starts this year due to a quad injury. His stuff appears to be very similar to last year and his K rate is way up due to increased usage of his splitter. In this very small sample size, he’s given up a fuckton of HRs…that’s what has done him in. Candidly, if you think there’s an obvious fix to the long ball problem, then this isn’t really a bad trade. The 2025 version of Kremer with 1 1/3 years of team control would command more than a 40 FV prospect, especially so in a seller’s market. It’s a gamble no doubt, but potentially a savvy one if SSS stats coming off of an injury are lowering his value.

Only his Tigers counterpart, Joe Yeager, had a safety. Callahan himself had two hits in his win, while the White Sox also tapped out three triples and left fielder Herm McFarland went 3 for 4 with three singles. August 1, 1982 - With the White Sox up, 3-0, in the top of the sixth at Comiskey Park, Ron LeFlore committed the worst error of his career. Catcher Gary Allenson lofted a soft liner to center field, and the ball struck LeFlore on his forehead as he drifted back to make the catch. A crazy bounce aided Allenson’s romp around the bases for an inside the park home run, to trim starter Jerry Koosman’s lead to 3-1. LeFlore, however, had a great day at the plate, leading off and going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. It was his double in the third inning that game the White Sox a 1-0 lead that they would not relinquish. August 1, 1983 - On a nationally televised ABC Monday Night Baseball game, Greg Luzinski drove a Ray Fontenot pitch over the left field roof at Comiskey Park. Sox TV announcer Ken “Hawk” Harrelson became extremely upset in the TV booth “You’ve GOT to be kidding me!” over it. Buehrle got tossed without warning for hitting B.J. Surhoff after White Sox hitters were struck earlier in the game. The Sox would get the last laugh however winning the game 6-3 and sweeping the four-game series increasing their divisional lead to 15 games over the Indians.

The first baseman is a big boy. I don't really know why Sandlin in Charlotte. They're short a starter (of sorts) and he's pitched well. I'm not so sure any Peralta or Robby Ray that they seem intent on bringing in is much better. But if Sandlin is a good player to trade, if they must. Looks like they really intend on jamming H Smith into the pen; but I'm not sure who he'd push out.
