Vaughn down to 1.2 fWAR and a 136 wRC+. His xwOBA is running about 35 points lower than his actual wOBA. There's no there there. I'd expect him to be about replacement level rest of way for Brew Crew. Gonzo rocking a 90 OPS+ in Pitt. Some power, but a 250 OBP. Making a lot of outs, and he's been borderline unplayable as a SS. Replacement level in bWAR in 68 PA. He's trending towards utility guy that isn't really a backup SS. I can see why he was moved. Obviously he has development left, but the Sox traded from a position of depth in order to hopefully restock the lower minors, not the worst idea. I don't think this is Semien 2.0.

We are a homer ball team, which is OK in a homer friendly Rate park, but when we don’t hit homers, we struggle. Would help to improve our small ball, particularly during Manfred ball extras. IMO.

if Mune and Colson can get going again (Colson might be heating up, we shall see), we really don't need Rogers to be anything but a better version of Romo. I've wanted a vet backup C all year since McGuire was released, hope they keep Rogers on the roster when Teel comes back. I'd rather have Rogers than Bart personally

Roger’s did not hit today, but his defense is better than Romo/Quero. We can now throw some pitches in the dirt, which we could not safely do with our other catchers. IMO.

What makes you think that (#1) ? In general I would say he has a lot of input but like all things Sox he'll get stat data and who needs rest data so it's collaborative. Do you think Getz has a role ? I know we all question lineups periodically like I did when Doyle was in there against LHP when he has reverse splits. But I do understand with new hitters you might want to get them in asap and make them feel like they'll have a role here.
