  1. Past hour
  2. I don't want to trade for a 36-year-old & a woman abuser.
  3. I went there with my girlfriend twice to see Baker Mayfield play football since she's a huge OU fan. There's probably two hotels I'd recommend to go to and that's it. Stay inside at night. I felt better in downtown Detroit.
  4. Just want to point out that Bonemer will be ready next year to take a spot; Emerson should extend the window....a window that should be open a decade + (unless we start doing stupid stuff). One thing I prefer about Roch is that he bats right... right handed hitting proficiency is becoming a scarce commodity.
  5. I remember this game vividly with Grandal going down. 2022 was such a painful season. I went to Cleveland with my dad in 21 to watch the boys clinch the division. In 2019, we wanted to start an annual traditional of visiting a road park in September each year. Vibes were high then. Then 2020 happened. Glad we made it happen in 21 post-COVID, then the Sox broke us in 22 and we haven't been since. We are starting it back up this year in STL mid September. Hope we're able to do a few more before we're unable, my dad is in his mid-70s now. Anyways, I really enjoyed the park, and felt Cleveland gets a bad rap. We stayed a few blocks from the park, ate good steaks, enjoyed some good cocktails, played at the casino, caught the ball games.
  6. I bit the $10 bullet. Was looking forward to sinking into the couch to catch the game after a long weekend of hosting family. Was enjoyable indeed.
  7. Unfortunately, this is something to get used to. Games on Apple TV, Peacock, Amazon Prime, etc. Different streaming services all over the place. Being in Iowa, I have to pull channel 19.3 off of the antenna and stream it over my network. CHSN is hard to get otherwise. Iowa is considered black out area for MLB TV (along with Cubs, Brewers, Royals, Cardinals, and Twins). Peacock is actually much easier for me to work with. MLB really needs to get it together to make it easier for fans to see who they want wherever they want.
  8. #1 bitches!
  9. Our old friend Reynaldo Lopez get the start the other day and went 5 strong with 1 ER. I always had a soft spot for him, even if his pitching drove us wild at times.
  10. That's insanely dumb of the MLB if true. Limiting their potential audience by a lot.
  11. Just found out the whole wild card round is on Peacock? What a bunch of bullshit. One more reason to get the 2 seed haha
  12. Nothing wrong with a 4-3 road trip. Can't wait for Mune to come back and take over.
  13. I sat in the LF bleachers my only time there - it was a lot of fun. Spent a long weekend in Cleveland....had a great time.
  14. You do know that a catcher went 1-1 in that draft, right?
  15. Today
  16. Shouldn't be. And certainly should never pay that price. But probably will be. Again, though, moves like this are how we got bad. ( it was a big part of it). Imagine had the Cubs chosen Crochet instead of Madrigal. And it's not like Chapman has been pristine. His 1.27 WHIP trails Grant Taylor, Newcomb, Richard, the much maligned (at least by me) Eisert; it also trails Tyler Davis and also much maligned Leasure. And for the bWAR believers, behind Taylor and Newcomb and Hudson.
  17. Steep price to pay. Given up projected 6-8 WAR over next 5 years at league min to get a good but aging bullpen rental. I duno, I'm not the GM, the guy we have is doing a good job, we'll see what happens.
  18. Oh yeah, more like top 5
  19. My dad has insisted ever since it happened that he faked it because he was embarrassed of being so out. I'm just glad we don't have to watch Yaz struggle to play baseball anymore haha
  20. My streams were in and out yesterday, was nice to finally sit down and watch most of it without an issue on the MLB.tv archive. In general the broadcast was garbage. Peacock is the absolute worst production with the laziest cheapest crews possible. Same s%*# with college sports. What is even the point of sending the Cleveland play by play guy, with their dugout guy, to join Steve Stone? It was so awkward when the dugout guy would chime in, like they forgot he was there and had to let him talk once and awhile.
  21. Vargas was Rick Hahn. No it wasn't
  22. What will be the cost of Chapman? We talking an org top 10 or nah?
  23. It really slides everyone down one slot and makes the 7th and 8th pretty hard to navigate for opposing managers when you have Newcomb/Taylor/dominguez/Murphy waiting for matchups
  24. Yeah, this angle is pretty quiet right now. If you can save a million bucks on one dude versus another, and basically give yourself another high level HS signing, that might actually break the tie for me.
  25. Any big name you can pretty much not expect the Sox to acquire. They're not going to trade away their top young assets. They're going to be very selective about getting a good deal. I wouldn't expect too much. If Sonny Gray is mostly a cash deal maybe him. Maybe can add an unrated RP or 2 also but maybe the help comes from within since we have a lot of young arms mending. Hell the team has ridden the youth this far might as well just let it ride.
  26. He did a great job with Tristan Peters. He also did a great job with acquiring Vargas, who I was very wrong about. But what I said is still true. He still burns $30 million each offseason on crappy free agents. But that’s pretty much free agency for you unless you are going after the no brainer top talent, or getting luck with fliers like Peters.
