One great thing is the positional versatility these guys have. Such a big defensive difference in moving a SS or a CF around compared to parking first basemen in the outfield. Exactly. You don’t pay a premium for additional year(s) of control for bad players in a playoff run. Grab cheaper rentals that are currently performing well and then sign better players for future seasons when there is a much larger pool of players to choose from in free agency. But the Sox are still cheap under Jerry, so this is what happens…
