  2. Ramos is out of options, and he certainly isn't playing over Vargas at this point. Even though he had a very small and inconsistent sample in the MLB, his stats at Charlotte are not at all impressive - and that's one of the most hitter friendly parks in the league. He can't hit RHP. Hill gets a ton of crap for being on the roster, but he does have value in the glove and on the bases. Ramos provides no value on either side of the ball.
  3. I can't hate on JR for this .Every team does it. No idea where that money ends up but its not like hes doing something that all the other owners arent doing. Also who's to say this cant be a great thing moving foward. The company has DEEP pockets and the CEO is a Chicagoan from the Southside . Maybe it's an Ishbia thing or he's going to be interested in helping build a new stadium. Most of you guys need to start thinking big picture possibilities when a company like that becomes involved with the Sox, the better the future outlook of the team becomes. Not a single thing to dislike about this.
  4. The Hays move to me is a complete waste. If you want a sub 1 war player in the OF we have plenty of options that could conceivably do that and it wouldnt cost $6 million dollars. Would have rather seen that money allocated to try and get a starting pitcher.
  5. have you considered that they can make the Annual Heat-Bulls-Hawks invitational and get bounced?
  6. I still think Ramos can have a career. Hope he stays healthy with the O's.
  7. There also seems to be some sort of self-moderating drive, where acknowledging a bad team getting incrementally better is seen as homerism, or "delusion", so the writer errs to mocking the team with cheap hits. I liked the Dominguez move, not crazy about Hays, and am satisfied with the Hicks move, while waiting for the full unveiling of the moving parts. But I think all three are good moves that move the team forward, create some bit of cushion and competition for the kids, amassing more depth at the upper levels, even if by pushing guys off the MLB roster back down to AAA.
  8. Don't know what years you are referring to but in my library I have audio from Bob on the road at various stadiums in the 1950's. The days when Ronald Reagan recreated games went out in the 1940's I think.
  9. Just that elder millennial style that was fresh 20 years ago and now just comes across as trying way too hard. Yea, not only is this over the top, it's factually wrong as well. Sosa is nothing like Leury as a player and if the Sox had more 1.5 WAR types instead of replacement level or worse FA signings maybe Hahn is still in charge.
  10. Eh, I can judge deal by deal instead of blind allegiance to one side or another.
  11. That's pretty much how I feel about this team. I completely get others optimism, there are a lot of things I am excited to watch this season, but this team still isn't any good on paper and most likely in practice as well. It's really just a snarky way of saying they're bad but at least they are moving in the right direction, which to me seems like a perfect description for the team currently.

  13. In a city whose teams seemingly have been trying to outdo each other for the title of sorriest franchise in Chicago, I think the crown has officially been passed to the Bulls. Their willful mediocrity has been overshadowed by the ineptitude and embarrassment in recent years of the Sox, Bears and Hawks, but the Bulls are finally at the top (bottom). And in typical Bulls fashion, it's still not even that trainwreck type of bad that's at least sort of interesting. Nope, it's just boring bad.
  14. I don't even know who Bob Elson is 😂 I grew up in the late 90's/2000's so my childhood was Hawk (thankfully I still got him when he was good) and DJ but mostly Hawk and Stone. I also loved listening to Farmer and DJ on the radio as well. Such a great listen. DJ is still good alongside Kasper. I think Kasper needs to stay radio though. It's his sweet spot. He tends to by dry/not as entertaining to listen to on TV IMO for some reason.
  15. Murakami already changing the team culture: new bidet in bathrooms. Pacific Rim, indeed. How White Sox are upgrading clubhouse to make Murakami feel at home
  16. Who the hell wrote this article? It was really weird reading it. Sounded like a frat boy writing it via AI.
  17. I spent many hours listening to Elson. Gee, I can remember tuning in many a Sox road game. Announcers didn't even travel with the team. They would sit in the Chicago studio and receive info on every pitch via teletype, and then broadcast the pitch as if they were seeing it, all with fake crowd sound effects.
  18. I don't know. Last year Smith, Vasil, Teel, Meidroth, Tauchman and Hauser. All had pretty good years. He definitely hasn't had a perfect track record but I would put it above very littlpromise. The jury is still out but I think there is promise.
  19. They're really banking on every attempt at a Giddey working out. They're way better with Okoro in the lineup this season, so I guess that one is working out, but AKME's inability to get a single pick from either trade is baffling.
  20. FanGraphs clocks in on the Hays and Hicks moves: White Sox Take Two Steps Toward Stinking Less | FanGraphs Baseball This seems a bit extreme to me
