  1. Past hour
  2. I do not. I don't really see the point of Austin Hays, but they have him. I don't like the DFA of Drew Romo. This trade adds upside in exchange for taking on money. I find Sandlin and Hicks to be an unexciting return for taking on that money. I just don't feel the need to trash a move. And they're already done. My complaining isn't going to undo them. I'll root for the guys they have until they're gone.
  3. Yeah I know and I’ll acknowledge it’s not just whoever is the current GM. Just dumb you have to shed one contract when your payroll is already low to add a collection of guys (Domínguez, Hays, Hicks) who lean more towards the “meh” side of the scale lol
  4. Correct. And this isn’t a Getz thing at all, he clearly has a very specific budget to work with and is getting fairly creative to work within those limits. And everyone has a budget. Needed in all business. It’s just embarrassing low for an MLB Team in Chicago. If the Sox decided to add a 25 million dollar a year player to the team tomorrow, they still wouldn’t crack the Top 20 in baseball this year for payroll costs.
  5. No way he sticks on their active roster, they will try to sneak him through too.
  6. I like the theory that the extra PTNBL owed to the White Sox is insurance for Paez' survival on the 26-man. They could return his Rule 5 rights, but then get him back as a standard minor leaguer.
  7. We (us fans) shouldn’t be but they absolutely should be. A team in the third largest market with a small payroll absolutely should be. Edit: again, you, myself and other fans shouldn’t be but the organization, yeah Edit 2: also not shocked since you agree with 100% of every move they make
  8. No idea. Weird team to claim him considering their roster. He could very well be DFA again.

  10. Exactly my point. Just hoping those who had heard about the trade in advance might be able to share generalities on this portion of the deal. Not exact names , just an acknowledgment that there is injury protection or based on performance etc. I have followed baseball pretty closely for 50ish years and can’t recall another 2 for 1 PTBNL. Aware of times a pool changed but the 2for1 seems unique. Probably really overreading that something major could be in the fine print but I remember when Dallas traded walker to the Vikings lol
  11. I just went with him in RF due to his arm being better than Baldwin’s. I could see those two flipped flop though.
  12. Google says $55,000 to $100,000 with $100,000 being the cap.
  13. Getz living a C.R.E.A.M lifestyle today.
  14. I’ve always wondered how much “cash considerations” are in a trade like this.
  15. Today
  16. Trying to get an idea of how these deals usually look, apparently the "average" of these deals is 8 to 10 million per year.
  17. It has been like that for me also. Not just you. Also, I thought Hays would play LF. @Chicago White Sox, was that an accidental mix up, or are you expecting him to play RF?
  18. Sounds to me Hicks is gone at TDL if he bounces back, so they could get out of that $12M for next season.
  19. I will cheer for that as well but there's a journey that leads to that for which I also cheer . If I doubt the journey I'd feel like a fraud only acknowledging the excellence.
  20. I’m thinking they are done after seeing this. Bruce says the cash from Boston is all for 2026, which means that pretty much the exact amount of the “Louis” Robert money freed up has now been spent. Seems like too big a coincidence how that worked out.
