Reid Detmers or Drew Rasmussen were the 2 examples I gave. I’m sure there are other plausible options. There is a real MIF logjam making Carlson a lotto pick we can afford to cash in And this organization does not lack Wolkow type players. Hes 1 of way too many high K guys

The players people want to trade for the elite one year wonder, Reid Detmers.

Who are you trading those guys for? It's not like they are excess either. 2 pitchers we need. Why trade Wolkow? He's the only hitter like that we have in the org. and you won't get much for him anyway, until he develops further (or doesn't). Carlson is several years behind our alleged logjam in the middle infield. We are going to need him. We have some 2nd tier middle infielders and other players that we can trade. Emulate the Brewers. Do not emulate the Mets and Reds.

2026 MILB Catch-All
Not sure if posted already, but the Sox agreed to a $4M bonus with Ransiel Herrera for the 2029 signing period. We have that other kid locked up for $6M in the 2030 class. Here’s hoping the international draft doesn’t come to fruition this CBA or is at least delayed.

No worries, the gun laws are more restrictive in Illinois lol

Offseason
That's my guess because of the network TV deal clauses that kick in around that time. Get ready for a quiet spring.

Monangai out tonight, but expected back after the bye. Can’t wait to see this version of this offense with him in it.- Best and Worst vacation experiences
Great Trips - North America Campobello Island - New Brunswick, Bar Harbor, and Mt. Katahdin. Lake Superior Circle Tour - Lake Superior Provincial Park Sleeping Giant Provincial Park Minnesota North Shore and Gunflint Trail UP Michigan Intracoastal Waterway Bald Head Island Beaufort (Both of them) Coinjock (best Prime Rib dinner of my life) Norfolk Chesapeake Bay and all the historical sites. For the past 20+ years my wife and I have road tripped for two months each summer across the US and Canada. One summer we also sailed the ICW for a couple months starting in Charleston. We've visited most of the Rocky Mountain States and everything east of there. We flew to Oregon and loved our time in Bend and will be adding that destination for a road trip in a couple years. The only really bad trip wasn't bad, but driving the mountain shelf roads (500' sheer vertical drops, no shoulder, no guard rails, one mistake and you are dead) in Colorado and Utah was a strain that I do not wish to repeat. We will still go back because Leadville and Salida are a couple of our favorite towns anywhere and Helper, Utah will always be a special memory. But, I will be avoiding those "Scenic Mountain Roads".- 2026 NFL thread

Trickledown economics like trying to get a baseball stadium built for the 3rd time in 40 years with taxpayer dollars? Messing with the teams location by trying to move the team to Addison, no Tampa, oh wait, the 78... Because you sure wouldn't be referring to the guy paying for his own stadium.- 2026 College Football Thread

We already saw what Wolkow’s value was at the last trade deadline. Unless Getz refused to trade the next strikeout king which I seriously doubt, I don’t think teams had much interest in him.- 2026-2027 NHL Thread: Get in losers, we're going losing
Danny Wirtz needs to step in before Davidson does something stupid. He should not be allowed to make anymore trades. Get rid of him and Blashill ASAP.- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Do you think Jerry isn’t taking advantage of the same tax loopholes as the Ishbia’s? You rip the Ishbia’s non-stop and say nothing about Jerry and his own history. Jerry was an IRS lawyer. He used his knowledge of taxes to make much of his money. Per Wikipedia: “He made his initial fortune in real estate, taking advantage of the Frank Lyon Co. v. United States decision by the United States Supreme Court, which allowed economic owners of realty to sell property and lease it back, while transferring the tax deduction for depreciation to the title owner.” That is literally “trickle-down economics” to the freaking T! Where is your equivalent souring on Jerry for engaging in the same strategy years before the Ishbia brothers were even born?- Offseason
Wolkow and Zapata are mere lottery tickets at this point.- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
As far as billionaires go my friend, I long ago soured on trickle down economics. I think a lot of people have. The White Sox base is a share of the Chicago fan base, split roughly along N/S geography but more than that, by the history of the teams at their respective locations. I asked rhetorically, WTF (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot) should these billionaires mess with that ? Tradition is such a huge part of baseball.- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Plus, the Bulls are worth $6.7 billion and do have what amounts to unconditional fan support despite mostly terrible teams the last decade...but the Bulls have never once managed to sign a true superstar free agent in his prime (D.Wade was closest) since the 1990s. Not to mention the Reinsdorf Family still has the White Sox control shares as well as 60% of the team. Jerry's new incentive with the Sox isn't just avoiding capital gains taxes and trust issues. It's adding another $800 million to $1 billion in franchise valuation by breaking the union and imposing a salary cap, even though he might have just 2-3 seasons in the last twenty plus (2006/2021-22) where you could even dream about hitting a luxury tax threshold as a Sox fan.- Illinois High School Football Thread

Reinsdorf is also a billionaire and he laid out the terms of the sale to Ishbia… which hasn’t been executed yet. Which means Jerry is still receiving the majority of the profits from the team at 90 years old. Who is the cheap one now? The guy could be buried with most of his money and still provide generational wealth to his entire family. He is Scrooge McDuck swimming in a pool of gold coins. I don’t think it makes much sense for why you treat the Ishbia’s as cheap but not Jerry. It is completely hypocritical.- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Jerry. Jerry is the one who went downstate with the 78 proposal to start all this.- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Until the transaction actually takes place, years down the road, this is Jerry's team. Your weird stalkery thing for Ishbia is just irrational and a lame attempt to derail the intelligent discussions in this thread. - 2026 NFL thread
