Nice to see one of the arms have a shut down preformance on the farm, finally. Might see Sandlin up again soon if they aren’t willing to give Thorpe a go for whatever reason.
  3. I'm not going to say we are a lock to make the playoffs but I think a historic and unprecedented collapse would have to happen to prevent us from making it. We are 72-63. 27 games left. If we go 14-13, very likely given the schedule, we will be at 86-76. I actually think there is a very realistic path to 90 wins.
  4. Division is well out of reach but the wild card isn't. It's possible for them to sneak into the third wild card spot but it would require every other team competing with them to collapse.

I am going to London to see a football game at Wembley in a couple weeks. Would like to be close to the stadium and not too far from the airport. Please give me some travel tips. Do you have a flight itinerary from KC International to London that you've heard of I must take? Early plan was to stay at Hotel London Wembley Park. Is that place OK or a dump? Am I close to their version of Broadway and is it a must to go to a show or two. Also do I need their money or are my credit cards OK to use. Do they take US currency or no way? Do they have Uber and Lyft? Is it dangerous in London? Is the food acceptable? And will I be able to handle cramped coach for 8 hours? Thank u in advance. Some folks here prolly have been to London a lot. Please advise me. Thank u and go Sox.
  6. He's magical. He's everything and then some. He even has a decent batting average in this era of not caring about batting averages. I love this guy. He's like Posednik times 3. He's like Rowand times four. Love this guy.
  7. Talk me off the ledge. Everybody in KC has the Royals continuing this sizz and making the playoffs. Is it possible? Likely? It would be annoying to have them continue this domination and make the postseason.
  8. Hopefully this Castillo guy can find the lost magic. He's likely to be the guy that opens the playoff series. Can't afford him to get rocked.
  9. Sox are amazing this year. Man it's hard to believe the sadness of the tank years has faded away. Sox have so much talent it's incredible led by my grinder faves: Antonacci, Meidroth and Banana Ball Man. Peters is such a breath of fresh air. Who the hell is responsible for bringing him aboard. Getz is GM of the year; our manager is manager of the year. I still say Sox-Cubs WS is finally coming.
  10. What's the early word? Is he enjoying football up in Wisky? Best wishes to him. It's different playing at the level he's at now. You really have to love the game.
  11. Oops. I was afraid of the "year after the amazing state title season blues" hitting the program. Then I read the story. We got beat on a flea flicker and late field goal on the road. Team will show if it still has the eye of the tiger next game or if it's gonna be a down year. All that excitement after winning state ... we've not been a football school in the past so the boys might need some time to want to dominate year by year. Then again ... a flea flicker won them the game and that's a gadget flukey play. Champs aren't dead yet.
  12. Short answer is no. A player has to be on the 40-man roster or 60-day injured list as of August 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET in order to be eligible for the postseason. (paraphrased from a Google search on this issue).
  13. Today

  14. At least he didn’t draw a certain sentence in the infield dirt like Bacon did for Getz years ago. 🫣
  15. Mets' Luis Robert Jr. Placed on Waivers in New MLB Rumors...The New York Mets placed outfielder Luis Robert Jr. on outright waivers, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.“Any team that claims him would be on the hook for the $3 million remaining on Robert's contract for this season. Robert's deal also includes a $20 million team option for 2027 or a $2 million buyout. In total, there is approximately $5 million guaranteed to Robert.“
  16. You keep doing this but tying the Sox winning percentage to Castillo is ridiculous. He isn’t helping and the team is winning despite his awful performances. You know this as well, yet you keep making this nonsensical argument. Yes, it can still be a bad trade just because the Sox are in first place. Also, no one wants Jerry to continue paying for old washed-up has-been’s and retreads that are nearing retirement. This has been the Sox way for ages. Lip makes this argument all the time and he’s right. Baseball is a young man’s game. Stop acquiring the James Shields of baseball that are on the steps to retirement.
  17. How could you believe in anything but brooms? This team is insane.
  18. Not sure the Pope would approve of shenanigans like that.
  19. Dude's an introvert (you could tell from his All-Star appearance), but vibed real well with Colson and Vargas when they were all here. When rosters expand, it'd basically be like: Would you rather have Robert (and his price tag) or Rikku.
  20. I can’t see him making it to the White Sox. Are players picked up in waivers in September eligible for the postseason?
  21. Lane C An actual star. See Machado 2019 Harper Z.Wheeler, etc. Unfortunately, Skubal is it for for FA. But there's always Sato and two Japanese starters.
  22. I saw an article that listed the 3 most likely landing spots for La Pantera being Phillies, Guardians and Blue Jays
  23. I want to see brooms tomorrow. Brooms and wands…this really is a magical season isn’t it.
  24. In the highlights from that first game against the Mets, Robert was getting big hugs from other players pregame.
