  1. It's not like the Sox have a great history of out-playing their projections.,,
  2. Oh yay, now we get to hear this board complain about the Guardians turning Bilous into something like we did with Pilkington all season.
  3. Welcome to the world...Rylan David Soble. Yeah, that's me holding him, so you can duplicate this post in the what do you look like thread!
  4. Hahaha. Hey, maybe we'll be fun bad now?
  5. By the looks of it if we are going to beat the projected 74 wins it'll either be 76 or 78 wins ! Also if the Sox finish under the 74 wins it's going to be between 62-68 wins ! Good news all the way around .
  6. I definitely see your point of view and was one I did for a handful of seasons. I also tend to disagree with it after those handful of years. The carrot definitely were/are the Opening Day access, same seats, playoff options, etc. That said, where I disagree is that you can go online today and get seats 20 rows behind the 1st base dugout for Opening Day. As mentioned by people above, more and more people can wait to see how the season is going and then lock in playoff tickets if they're doing well. I also was apart of a group that had incredible seats, but I only took about a dozen of the 81 games, so when it came to playoff access, although they had every game I was only guaranteed on Divisional game. I went online and was able to get all possible games for the ALCS And ALDS (in 2021) and most of my seat locations were in that same range of 15-20 rows behind the 1st base or 3rd base dugouts. After i saw that, I just said to myself, why am I locking into random dates of games months ahead of time, forking over thousands of dollars? I was generally unhappy with the situation. The carrot isn't as sexy when you have access regardless of your season tickets. The way I look at it is I can apply the money saved on a 10, 15, 20 game plan and just apply it to great seats a few regular season games and then just spend it on playoff games. Also, from a business angle, I couldn't find anybody who wanted to go in 2022. I was eating like $400 of seats a game cause I couldn't find anybody who had interest. 2021 was great, 2022 was a disaster and i suspect 2023 will be even tougher to get clients to a game.
  7. The last point is the reason why I’ve bought packages. But you can get those playoff options by purchasing a package at the end of a successful/playoff season too, which incentivizes fans to take a wait-and-see approach (which is what I’m doing this year.) Until they sustain winning and actually have regular sellouts, though, season tix will be a tough sell.
  8. If this is right, just throw up a Sell The Team(s) billboard. If it's wrong, can the Sun-Times please fire Cowley?
  9. Natalia. She replaced my last rep, Colin, who I had for years and was very good. Not saying she was bad, but I never had any issues with Colin and he never tried to upsell me.
  10. It’s a big year for Vera. They’ll run him out as a starter but he could fast track in relief if it doesn’t work.
  11. They couldn't even escape the off season without 2 major calamities . Part snake bitten part same old Sox.
  12. We put him on waivers to clear space for German, right? Was there anyone of less use who could have been waived instead? Just want to see who to compare him to later this year.
  13. What do you do with a drunkin sailor?.....put em in charge of the Padres front office...put em in charge of the Padres front office.....put em in charge of the Padres front office....early in the mornin.
  14. Exactly why he was a trade candidate for me this offseason
  15. Yeah I’ll be down there the 9-13th of March. Only have the plane ticket and hotel reservations made, still deciding on whether I want to subject myself to the pain of White Sox Baseball this early on. Although that was my initial plan, just have had a tough time getting excited for this group
  16. Ken Giles is holding a showcase this morning. Sox should have interest you would think with Crochet missing some time and Hendriks out for at least most of the season.
  17. The White Sox won seven more games than the Cubs in 2022. That's not a lot. The Cubs were active acquiring very good talent during the off-season. Besides Benentendi, the White Sox did virtually nothing to improve the team. They also lost their best hitter (Abreu) and their second best starter (Cueto) from 2022. Thinking the Cubs will probably win more games than the White Sox in 2023 is not at all far-fetched. If you do bet your house, consider buying a tent as a hedge.
  18. There is a nice positional core developing outside of catcher: 1B: Vaughn 2B: Sosa/Popeye SS: Montgomery 3B: Ramos LF: Benintendi CF: Robert RF: Colas DH: Jimenez Need some of the young pitchers to come through as well, but at least there is some reasons for optimism in the long-run.
  19. They have 2 years to figure out how to get a 1990's AI Hawk Harrelson and Tom Paciorek to call the games.
  20. how did I never find this before
