  1. Honestly can’t think that Ishbia entered into Twins discussions with a new stadium in mind when Target Field is only 15 years old.

  2. Said this on September 5th before the season started, and think it's looking pretty solid right now. Biggest takeaway for me is how much coaching matters. There were a bunch of games last year under Eberflus where they lost in such unbelievable fashion, literally found new ways to lose. Culture was rotten, team wasn't prepared, but the core of this roster is basically the same in 2025 as it was in 2024. And seemingly every close game they play this year, they're finding a way to win. I just don't think any of us could wrap our head around how big of an upgrade Ben Johnson/Dennis Allen/Antwaan Randle El would be from Matt Eberflus/Eric Washington/Thomas Brown.

  3. I think Pereira is most likely a platoon bat in right. Who knows if he’ll hit even a little? Hill is no Michael A. Taylor. .200 is an impossible dream for him. I hope they get a lefty swinger who can play some outfield, otherwise Braden will be up no later than May 1. Personally, I am tired of them stocking the team in April with waiver wire fodder, going double digits under .500 and then playing out the string for 5 months. I would love it if they thought coming into the year that they would play close to .500 in April. I do not believe that will be a priority.

  4. I highly doubt JR is making any stadium decisions without Ishbia. Ishbia is paying for it one way or another.

  5. David Schoenfield is apparently not very familiar with the White Sox and their owner.

  7. Warren is just not as explosive. He's a bull to bring down though...with 2/3 defenses shutting down Taylor almost completely in recent weeks, he has to step up but seems to be wearing down with the longer season. Loveland is more like a Kittle type IMO...a quasi or hybrid WR. Healthy Bowers is the best in the league...although McBride/AZ gets that honor this year due to health.

  9. This - Loveland looks legit and is getting better and better each week. I still don't love taking a TE that early - but this wasn't a draft with a stud LT or DE sitting there for the taking either. Kmet has also been playing really well as of late. But this also goes to Caleb I think starting to figure things out more as a passer too. Use of middle of the field is up - he's using TE's a lot more. Progress is nice and to your point - at this point - both Warren and Loveland look like they have a nice career trajectory in front of them.

  10. Well, defensively Carlson is likely to beat anyone out at ss, including Colson. Let's see if Carlson hits. Bonemer can definitely play ss. He's better over there than at 3b. That said, he probably is not gonna force Colson to move, let alone Carlson. My feeling on Bonemer is that the Sox are gonna find a place for the bat. Is that ss? 2b? 3b? OF? I don't know. Also, the top 3 prospects in the draft are all ss. As for the guys in the system, Bergolla has great hands, but the arm is a little short. I guess he could be an Ozzie type at short, but it's marginal. Plus, there's zero impact. Utility future probably. Mogollon is not a ss. Perez played some 3b because Anonacci. He also played some ss. He's a 2b-only type guy.

  11. They're 7 point underdogs on the road. So it's not some impossible feat, especially given how inconsistent Philly's offense has been all year. They looked great against Dallas for 1.5 quarters and then Eberflus of all people adjusted and they didn't score the rest of the game. My main concern is the line blocking for Caleb against that vaunted Eagles defensive line. We saw Love and Goff struggle a lot against them. The offensive line did fine today against the Steelers' very good defensive line. Watt, Heyward, and Herbig are all great defensive linemen. Trapilo absolutely shut down Herbig, who was one of the highest graded pass rushers by PFF going into today. They probably would have had no sacks today if Caleb just stayed in the pocket and threw to DJ in the middle of the field on that sack fumble TD. I've been worried that as the competition got better, we were going to start seeing more holes in Caleb's game. Because he does hold onto the ball too long. He does linger on reads. But we're 12 weeks in now and we've faced 3 really good defensive line groups in the past 3 games and Caleb's doing just enough to pass the test and we keep winning. I think going into this week, I would have given us maybe like a 20% chance of winning this game. After today and seeing how we held up against a pretty damn good pass rush, I'd give say my confidence level is up to maybe 35%? It's a short week, it's against the defending champs, and it's on the road, it's never easy to win given those circumstances.

  12. JJ has to be activated or he goes on IR for the rest of the season. I believe they have one more game to decide on Gordon. Getting TJ back would be big, getting all 3 back would be amazing. philly ran into their own injury issues today on the defense, so you never know. The thing about them is their offense has been pretty weird, they shut down after they score 20, and a lot of times this season they have gone mostly scoreless after the half. It bit them today

  13. Not from teaching lol. Investments/real estate. Everything's totally out of whack when a 98 square meter apartment in a second tier city like Wuhan cost around $375,000 to buy, and that price was significantly down from around $450,000 pre Covid. The biggest positive about China is health care is actually affordable, you can always see a doctor within 1-2 hours even on weekends and medical diagnostic tests are quite reasonable too...Lipitor is basically free through government-subsidized health insurance (wife or mother in law can purchase for me, but only one month's supply at a time.) Well, that and the cheap and efficient subway systems and high speed railways. Coca Cola and Gatorade haven't risen to more than 43-80 cents in over a decade. Apple products, imported cars, any luxury items like handbags cosmetics shoes and jewelry will be 25-33% more expensive. And having a child is crazy expensive: school tuition supplemental classes and activities...your male son is also responsible for all future wedding/honeymoon costs and must have an apartment (from parents usually) and car in own name or it's exceedingly difficult to marry. Women are outnumbered by men roughly 6 to 5, for myriad reasons that would require a dissertation to explain.

  14. One more win and the Bears have a winning season. Pretty remarkable all things considered.

  15. I think JJ and Kyler will probably play…but Philly will be pissed after losing to Dallas, and they are just a better team overall. Don’t love their chances

  18. E.Pereira and D.Hill will both win Gold Gloves and outhit their career OPS numbers by 150 points...why not live in dream land? Who needs to spend $3-5 million on Tauchman when they can save more money and get younger? Murray's career 763 ops in the minors will make everyone forget Shewmake. Oops...they already did.
