Yes. They actually have a decent core of positional players that look solid. Meidroth with his good D and great OBP looks like a 3 WAR guy (hat tip to @Chicago White Sox). Vargas is hitting and while his D isn't good, he would prolly be a fine 2 WAR 1B. Colson should slide in at 3B and provide solid D and good LH power with hopefully decent OBP. I think the Teel/Quero combo at C is promising, although there will be growing pains.
They just need a couple more decent pieces....unfortunately our trade capital for the deadline isn't great unless they move Martin.
I dont think we need to see two straight months of very good performance. I think a couple more weeks and bring him up. Give him a shot to prove he can stick at SS.
Maybe bring Teel up in a couple weeks as well if his work behind the plate looks good.
Braden should be getting promoted to AA pretty soon as well.
That might be Colson's best night at the plate of his whole career!
4/4, 2 HRs, 2 doubles and a walk.
Damn...Fuller is awesome.
If Colson keeps it up for a couple more weeks, call him up and let him play at SS and 3B.
Yep that would be a good idea. If he can have a good 3 weeks or so and his swing is consistently good with lower Ks, bring him up and put him at SS to evaluate how long he can stick there.
That wouldn't be a rush. He will probably be in AA by this June or July so I think next June for MLB debut is realistic if he keeps playing well. The key thing is what happens to his BA and K% when he hits AA. I think that may require some adjustment but hopefully not too long.
Nah...many/most high end prospects will encounter significant failure at some point. He has to learn to adjust, make changes and fight his way out of it.
