The only silver lining for me is now I don't have to pay any attention to the Super Bowl. If the Pack had gotten there, I'd have been watching. They're the only football team I pay any attention to, so now football is mercifully over for me. NY + Boston = I couldn't possibly care less.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 12:06 PM) LOL! Yeah, right. Tell me again, how many times have you seen the 9th inning of any games??? What is this "9th Inning" you speak of???? I hear the White Sox have some pitcher named Jenks - why don't they ever use him??? Like I said, I will stay if prodded to stay (I've not left a hockey game early this year), but when I get to make the call I leave early. My kid likes to split early, too, so it makes my decision easier.

QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) I have to be on time for everything. Usually early. This is mine. I have to be ridiculously early for everything. If I'm only a little early, I feel like I'm late. I have skipped concerts that I already had tickets to because I was going to be late. That's how bad it is - I'd rather miss something than be late for it. I like to leave things early, too, but that's not mandatory.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 10:06 AM) Both really cool to watch. Nash almost seemed like he was surprised that the net was so open at the end I think he was a bit surprised that the puck came back to him, really. It bounced around a little from the pokecheck and came back to him with everyone else out of position. He did all the work to create that play, and in a huge situation (down a goal in the final minute of play) - it was a true "playmaker's play". -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 09:47 AM) I don't know what it's like where he's at, but it was a balmy 25 degrees in Dallas this morning. That's 25 more than I got, but not exactly "braggin' weather". IT'S THE END O' THE WORLD!!!!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 09:38 AM) That might have been the goal of the year, competeing with Toews goal earlier vs Col. I still give the slight edge to Toews, just because the goalie screwed up the pokecheck on Nash's goal. Both spectacular goals, though. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 09:47 AM) I am curious about Young in Minnesota. They are known as a regimented organizaiton that demands fundamentals and good behavior from their players. Does that sound like Young to you? Not now it doesn't, but the right environment can benefit a younger player. Young is still maturing as a person and being around people who demand accountability, while at the same time respecting you as a person, could help him grow. Of course, that's not a certainty, but what is in life? As for the original question, I don't care what the "experts" think, and the Sox shouldn't either. (It's obvious to me that they do, though, given their ridiculous feud with Eddie Munster.) I just wish I felt better about the rotation. Spots 3-5 scare the crap out of me.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 10:32 PM) Nice snipe by Lang in the 4th round of the shootout. Game over. Very nice indeed - no fakes, just picked a spot and fired. Nice road win! -

I don't care what any sports tard does to himself (like tattooing Tom Brady's helmet on his own head), but leave the kids out of it. Although it really seems to me, from reading the story, like it was a joke gone wrong, although who knows - that was the dad's side of the story and of course he'd say that. The sad thing is, there have to be a million dopey dudes who could do the same type of thing to their kid over a game. -

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 11:24 PM) More successful than Hogan, Austin, and The Rock? Only thing I remember Sid doing is breaking his leg at that WCW PPV in like 2001. Did he even have merchandise? Did he even have fans? The thing I remember him best for, besides the gruesome ankle break, is skipping shows due to "illnesses" or "injuries" but still being healthy enough to play in his softball leagues. I don't remember there ever being any Sid merchandise. There probably was, but I don't remember it. Of course, I'd never have purchased any - Sid was basically the equivalent of Snitsky. -

QUOTE(Shadows @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 08:52 PM) Holy s*** this movie looks hilarious.. This looks like a decent enough dumb comedy. I'm sure I'll see it at some point. But I'm really developing an unnatural hatred for the fat guy from Superbad. He is reaching Jack Black-like status to me, where every time I see him I want to punch something, vomit, or punch the vomit.

Rosenthal reports: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7683658...3162&ATT=49 I guess it's a decent gamble for them - if he's bad, he still would probably only be as bad as Jason Marquis or Ryan Dempster would.
