  1. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish Engel was playing and Leury in right so we don't have to watch Palka.
  2. Parkman just keeps repeating he's a long term DH, after three games in left field, for really no reason.
  3. By removing the back swing he puts less stress on his elbow. If anything, this is better for his long term health - the whip action he had before can be even more strenuous on your elbow. That said, pitching mechanics aren't an exact science and no one really knows with certainty what is good or bad when it comes to arm stress.
  4. If this is your thought then why do you care about these extensions?
  5. The more I watched today and this... I think this was done to prevent Lucas from flying open. That was a huge issue for Giolito when he had the arm whip motion going back - it took him off balance and caused his shoulder to fly open. This compact delivery seems to be an attempt to streamline his drive towards the plate, maintain his balance, and keep his front side closed. Today it worked, but Giolitos problem - due to changing his mechanics numerous times - will be consistency... but in theory, it should be easier to be consistent with better balance and less moving parts.
  6. Get off your soap box pal.
  7. Maybe parents should educate their kids on the health concerns of tobacco and Jose abreu can do whatever he pleases with his body given that its legal? I'm also almost positive that smokeless tobacco is banned at comiskey.
  8. Maybe he doesn't have six pack abs like you Ron. Risky proposition.
  9. The % of making that play was less than 10%. A 105+ mph one hopped line drive tailing hard is not a play someone makes typically or is expected to make. I know you would have made it Ron. But we can't expect everyone to have your skills.
  10. Umpire does it again. 3-0 pitch is out of the zone and the umpire gives the pitcher a break. Just maddenining.
  11. There is zero chance Tim Anderson will be given an error on that ball.
  12. Was more than a "tough" ball. At best he keeps it in front of him. He wasn't gloving that ball.
  13. Lol the ball was one hopped at about 110 mph. I've been as critical as anyone so far of Tim but ripping him for not making that play is a bit much.
  14. Just a quick review but pretty much every single starting pitcher who threw well yesterday (with the exception of the Houston game) threw more than 92 pitches. Bauer threw 107. Citing health concerns for letting giolito face two batters after giving up the hit is way over the top. Yoan, flash and no finish.
  15. Now almost 100 pitches is dangerous? Come on.
  16. Yes. I think this as well. Giolito needed to be given a chance to get out of it and pitch from the stretch. His job isnt to protect giolito. It's to help him grow.
  17. He has to learn to pitch from the stretch.
  18. Hes got to be able to pitch from the stretch.
  19. Besides the short arm action, by far the biggest change and best change for giolito is the pace in which hes working. Actually can find rhythm this way.
  20. Nothing bothers me more than an umpire giving a pitcher a pitch off the plate when they cant find the zone.
  21. Yes, this is my main take away so far. See if it's sustainable deception or they figure it out 2nd 3rd time through
  22. Palka is 27 years old. Has no position. Struck out 153 times In 473 at bats and doesnt walk. He is not a major league outfielder and never will be.
  23. Just searched and this was the most I could find but as kurkjian says, teams just dont do it anymore. It's not just the white Sox. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwj2m7nq_6rhAhWJLHwKHQoxCFEQzPwBegQIARAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fabcnews.go.com%2FSports%2Fimprove-defense-make-teams-daily-infield-practice%2Fstory%3Fid%3D36471960&psig=AOvVaw2pgOfAtwkfT4_E-QPBY19F&ust=1554074241977970
